AC Sparta Praha pulled out all the stops this week in their game with Ferry Rangers. With the title already out of sight to them, thanks to West Bank’s earlier walkover win when AFC Doug couldn’t raise a team, they managed to give them selves a chance of finishing Runners Up, by beating their closest rivals with a convincing 5-0 scoreline. The defeat clearly was not ideal for Ferry Rangers who had led the Division prior to the start of play, but they remain in with a chance of the title if West Bank FC slip up on the final week of games. FC Huyton & Copa Mundial both picked up 3 points courtesy of walkover wins when their opponents couldn’t raise teams. In Copa’s case these were three vital points in their efforts to avoid the trap door to Division B.

In the second tier, Villa FC dropped out of the running for honours after a 4-1 defeat at the hands of second placed Werder Beermen, while FC Presa maintained their 2 point gap at the top of the Division courtesy of a walkover win when Inter Herass couldn’t raise a team. These results mean it’s a straight two way shoot out at the top for the title. Inter Your Nan & The Master Debators had to settle for a share of the spoils after a captivating match which finished all square at 2-2. Borussia Boots ‘00’ had a huge stroke of luck in their hopes of avoiding the drop, when Real Sosobad couldn’t raise a team, which handed them a valuable 3 points.

Congratulations to NABJ FC in Division C, who became the first title winners in the league this season with an emphatic 7-0 win against second placed Doug FC. Doug FC remain in second spot but it is a position under threat from 3 others, 2 of whom have games in hand, but a win next week will guarantee Runners Up spot. The biggest threat to Doug FC’s position, arguably, comes from Rapid Viagra, who with an excellent 6-2 win against 6 Brits & An Aus (who are mostly enjoying the current cricket series) sit 4 points behind them with a game in hand. Multiple Scorgasms are also in with a shout but need results to go their way, more so after their 2-2 stalemate with Duck Fuzz this week. New boys Sankey City did well on debut and whilst the result didn’t go their way, a 7-3 loss to Inter Ur Ma, they can take encouragement from the fact it always takes new teams 2 or 3 weeks to find their form.

See you all on Wednesday!
