Dave Banks, on the mark as usual for Putterills...

League action...

The solitary Premier Division game didn’t go ahead as Bedwell Athletic were once again short against Probuild and forfeited.

With Division Four leaders in cup action, Broadhall 'A' kept their slim chances of the title alive, burying their opponents’ chances in the process. They only had Rob Stevenson's strike on the quarter-hour to show for their superiority at the break, it was an unstoppable 25-yard free-kick into the top corner. Highwayman started the second-half as if they meant business and equalised within the first five minutes through Bryan Challice. Both sides created a number of good opportunities before Broadhall’s winner came when Phil Stevens' cross was met by Paul Hancock.

AFC Chells suffered double-header heartache again as they took just one point for the second week running. Rob Barton netted in the opening draw and bagged a hat-trick in the second game. It wasn’t enough as Ben Snowden equalised for Crooked Billet Boro in the first game and Adam Buckingham (two), Danny Child and Marvin Miller gave Boro the points in the second.

Luke Smith (hat-trick) and Alex Willocks saw Bedwell Rangers take the points against White Lion Walkern. Kieran James’ goal was mere consolation.

The Frank Neville Memorial Cup saw a couple of close games. David Banks (hat-trick), Jimmy Anderson (two) and Graeme Duff gave Putterills the points against Fox, for whom Ryan Palmer (two) and Jason Smith replied on the day.

James Khakpour-Smith bagged four as Hartham Press look to book a semi-final place. Andy Parrish was also on target as Stevenage Old Town’s Richard Stewart bagged two to add to the two-goal advantage, but they still came up one short.
