One of the two first round matches in the Basingstoke Senior Cup was played when Hook travelled to Andover New Street and came away beaten 4-0.

Hook gave a good account of themselves in a tight first half that ended conceding just then one goal when Liam Wilkins beating the offside trap and then the advancing Greg Archer. Aaron King had a great chance to level a minute into the second half, but shot wide and had a good spell. It was not until the 78th minute when New Street made it 2-0 through Harry Lawson and two minutes later Wilkins made it 3-0. It was in added time when the final goal came, Steve Turner their scorer.

The Hampshire Junior A Cup tie between DJS Telecoms and Basingstoke Royals was brought forward a week and the Division One side were well beaten 5-0 by Premier team Basingstoke Royals. It was a hat trick from Steve Price that sunk DJS who have only lost just once before, in their first game of the season. He put Royals two goals up in the opening 17 minutes and before the break Nick Willcock made it 3-0. James Gilham and James McIntosh missed further chances for Royals before Price scored his third in the 70th with a low free kick.

The Second Qualifying Round of the Peter Raynbird Cup went almost according to league form, apart from perhaps Division Two Winklebury Wizards beating Division One Hook Reserves. Former Basingstoke Town favourite Tommy Clegg is managing the newcomers who have yet to be beaten. It was Hook who took a 4th minute lead, a breakaway goal by Jack McKee and James Foot made it 2-0 with a free kick some forty yards out. Wizards had chances with Chris Adams hitting the bar and Ben Clarke the post as Hook clung onto their two goal lead. Clegg had words at half time and within two minutes of the second half they were level. A hand ball decision led to Scotty Winterbourne converting and Matt Love played a one two with Hugo Carlos to level and in the 48th Adams played through for Carlos to see them in front. Carlos dribbled through to net the fourth as Hook had no answer. The loss of Ryan Ashley taken to hospital with a dislocated shoulder during the game was a blow for Hook Reserves. Preston Candover held Division One Overton United A until the 44th minute and really should have taken the lead at 0-0 when Clayton Deacon missed a great chance. They fell behind when Nathan Bennis took a pass from Danny Manton and made no mistake with fine finish and Charlie Palmer made it 2-0, a volley following the cross from Joe Lake. Bennis then netted his second in the 65th minute and then set up Palmer for a 4-0 lead. The only reply from Preston came from a late free kick, taken by Dan Trump and in off the head of Overton defender Lee Corsan. Well placed Division One Hampshire Irons were taken to extra time by lowly opponents AFC Aldermaston before winning 4-1. It was all Irons with Chriss Dobbie giving them a 20th minute lead by beating keeper Gary Bone in a one on one following a a strong run. Aldermaton drew level in the 65th from a Kevin Flain penalty Then came some good saved by Bone from Dobbie and Owen Dent to keep them in the game until extra time. Olly Owen converted a penalty for the lead and when a second spot kick was awarded he beat Bone again. Chris Dobbie netted the fourth as Aldermaston were just not quick enough to stop him. Lowly placed Sherborne Reserves put on a good show against Twentyten from the higher division, but in the end lost 6-3. Joe Osborne gave the visitors a two goals lead in the opening fifteen minutes, but Cobi Judd pulled a goal back as Sherborne improved, but by half time Carl Pearson put away a cross from Osborne for a 3-1 interval lead. Two quick goals from Lucas Pickett and Joe Hill increased the lead to 5-3 but a late recovery from Sherborne saw a bullet free kick from Connor Perrin and decent goal by Andy Carr pull it back to 5-3. Order was restored when birthday boy Franklin Spacagna netted the sixth.
