FA YOUTH CUP
Only 2 League clubs made it through to the next round. Gresley had a 4-0 away win over Belper Town with Harry Lansdowne, Cameron Steele, Harry Hughes and Ryan Clemson with the goals for the young Moatmen. St Andrews had a 5-0 home win over Grantham Town with Jamie York (3), Weldon Manuel and Joe Lee all scoring. The all Leicestershire tie between Aylestone Park and Oadby Town went the way of Oadby as they had a 3-1. Billy Tebbatt with the Parks’ consolation. Anstey Nomads made the long trek to take on Boston United and succumbed to a 4-2 defeat with Cosmos Mathwasa and Harry Schofield getting on the score sheet for the Nomads. Ashby Ivanhoe travelled to take on Mickleover Sports and suffered a 2-1 defeat with Mickleover scoring a last minute controversial penalty. George Clamp with the Ivanhoes’ goal.
The other 2 Leicestershire sides in the Competition suffered heavy defeats. Lincoln City hit Leicester Road for 10 without reply and Loughborough Dynamo had a 5-0 away defeat at Ilkeston Town.
Gresley have a home tie v Oadby Town in the next round as do St Andrews who take on Ilkeston Town. These ties are to be played week commencing 5th October.
NORTHERN DIVISION
Allexton & New Parks’ unbeaten run continues as they had a 5-1 away victory at Coalville Town. James Chapman and Billy Clarke both bagging braces with Brandon Jarrett also scoring. Aaron Windrum getting the young Ravens’ consolation. Mansfield Town also had a 5-1 victory over Ibstock United with both Keaton Ward and Nyle Blake bagging braces and Harry Freestone also on the score sheet. Ibstocks’ consolation coming from Josh Bowley.
