A Cup Final Preview of Hasland FC

Formed as Hasland Devonshire in the summer of 2007 following a merger of Hasland Devonshire Arms F.C. and Hasland New Inn F.C. The club was run from the Devonshire Arms pub in Hasland and competed in the Chesterfield and District Sunday League Division 5 finishing the season in 3rd place which earned promotion to Division 4.
The 2008 – 2009 season produced 2 trophies, the Division 4 title was won quite comfortably and was followed up by winning the Derbyshire Junior Sunday Cup at the Alfreton Town F.C. ground with a 2 – 0 victory over Harpur Hill F.C.
The 2009 – 2010 season again ended with a trophy, this time the Division 2 title and promotion to Division 1.
The 2010 – 2011 season was the first time the club had been in the top division of the Sunday league and this once again ended with the title and also reaching the Derbyshire Senior Sunday Cup Final.
The 2011 – 2012 season ended with retaining the Division 1 title.
The 2012 – 2013 Season started with a name change to Hasland F.C. and running from the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Hasland. So far this season the club has once again regained the Division 1 title and also won the Derbyshire Senior Sunday Cup for the first time with a 2 – 1 victory over Clowne Wanderers F.C. at the Belper Town F.C. ground

PLAYER PROFILES

Asa Ingall – Defender. Much travelled and experienced, currently manager of Clay Cross Town F.C. in the Central Midlands League

Ant Lynam – Striker. Legendary goal scorer who specialises in free kicks

James Senior – Midfield. Unfortunately unavailable tonight having broken his jaw in the semi-final

Matthew Smith – Midfield. Jack in the box who pops up when he wants

Andrew Thornton – Goalkeeper. Prone to injury but good stopper

Gaz Turner – Goalkeeper. Reliable between the posts

Ben Goodwin – Midfield. Young prospect

John Goodwin – Defender. Utility player who is now famous as ‘club lino’

Luke Beatson – Defender (Captain). Star signing from Mill Madrid

Lee Clay – Striker. Knows the way to goal and difficult to handle

Dale Crowder – Defender. Experienced, but struggling to be fit for tonight

Gaz Davey – Defender. Reliable player in the back line

Karl Dolling – Midfield. Deadly from 2 yards………………sometimes.

Karl Hallam – Defender. Good defensive qualities

Mark Houghton – Midfield. Contributes to the team’s passing game

Luke Hollis – Defender. Reliable player in the back line

Richard Matthews – Midfield. Contributes to the team’s passing game

Kevin Newton – Midfield. Reliable in the middle of the park

Stef Holland – Midfield/Defender. Hard in the tackle
