League Action...

4 Games played in the Premier Division with 2nd placed Arena Group put 6 past MBDA , with 1 way traffic from the off, MBDA’s defence finally broke down with Ryan Skeggs scoring from close range with Liam Kenna scoring the 2nd with a combination from Marc Holmes. Russell Cox scored his first of the season straight after half time then Piers Le-grand then set Cox for his 2nd, Holmes then scored with a well-placed shot from inside the box with Ian Woodfield delivering another great cross. MBDA Scored on the break with their only goal coming from Ryan Stewart, Cox completed his hat trick to complete the rout.
Almond Tree were away to Broadhall where it saw a Nick Collins brace for Almond Tree to lead through half time before Rick Lawrence and Carl Lingwood tricked their way through the Broadhall defence before squaring the ball across the 6 yard box for Dave Holmes to tap home.
Stevenage Leisure under the new management of Mark Kear, were up against the league leaders Dun Cow and after 40 minutes it was a deserved stalemate at 1-1 with Stu Smith equalising for Stevenage Leisure, Eventually the experience told. Dun Cow had six players failing to turn up on Sunday leaving them short against Stevenage Leisure, starting with ten, but soon up to eleven they struggled for the first half to get any rhythm. They took the lead but were shocked when Leisure levelled. Two quick goals then sealed the game, before an injury forced old campaigner Mick Clements to borrow boots and appear as second half sub, and it was his inch perfect pass that led to a fourth for the cow, to seal a 4-1 win with Adam Furness, Ian Thorne and 2 from Scott Mahoney for Dun Cow.
St Nicholas won their game after coming from behind against Real Stevenage 2-1 with goals coming from Carl Fletcher and James Tyler for St Nics and Rob Verdia for Real Stevenage
Division 2’s only game was Pear Tree playing Broadhall Athletic but was not played due to Broadhall unable to field a team

Division 3 saw 3 games played with Proverbial United looking to put a poor performance in the county cup behind them played an undefeated Roebuck Gate team full of confidence. A Proverbial team ravished by injuries soaked up early pressure and constantly broke on the counter attack with pace and direct running by Jack Izzard and Josh Stock. Izzard went close early on chipping the keeper from 25 yards only for an excellent last gasp tip over the bar. Chances came to both Teams with Roebuck hitting the bar with an over- head kick, Proverbial’s defence throwing their bodies in produced some incredible tackling and blokes non less than Ben Evans (Captain).Into the second half and still 0-0 before a controversial offside decision left the Roebucks Dave Morton clean through to put the home team 1-0 up. Proverbial pressed hard with Evans, Stock and Cooper forcing outstanding saves from the Roebuck keeper, It took a wonderful free kick buried in the bottom corner from Sam Stephenson to bring the scores back to 1-1, both teams had chances to steal the points but all in all a well-earned point for each side.
Stevenage Old Town went 1-0 up in the first half when Billy Reedman runs onto a through ball by Sean Gumble and slots the ball into the bottom corner. Second half saw Gary Linehan get their 2nd after Callum Kendricks shot was first saved and Gary followed up. Callum Kendrick then played a through ball over the defence for Gary Linehan to bring under control and put it past the keeper from just inside the box giving Gary his 2nd goal, 5 minutes from time Callum Kendrick finally got his goal after missing a hat-full of chances, after Ben Gumble broke down the right and cut the ball low, across the box for Callum Kendrick to side foot home, TC Wanderers had no reply.
View Point wanderers were the losers in their game against Granby with 4 goals for Granby coming from Tony Bailey, Glen Begley, Stephen Clibbon and Garry Haze.
Frank Neville Memorial Cup saw just the one match played with the old Post Office traveling to Peartree to play Coopers United. As it is a cup game and they were 2 divisions above us we had a 2-0 head start but then with just 30 minutes played Coopers had brought it back to 2-3 to them. Shortly after they scored their third Karl Rickaby pushed the ball through their defence with his belly to set up Anthony Alcock to score his 1st goal for the club. We went in at half time 3-3 but playing well as the half went on. Coopers kicked off the second half but missed their chance to go a goal a head. TOPO went on the attack just after Coopers missed and Karl played Theo Griffith in on goal and he went and scored to make it 4-3 to TOPO. With the last 15 minutes to go, Tom Robbins had a corner in swinging and it fell to Karl Deans head and he also scored his 1st goal for the club. The final score was TOPO 5-3 Coopers.
