District League Report November 12th. Berry Brow moved up to second in division 1 with a thumping 7-1 win over AFC Lindley with goals from Niall Dobson, Paul Pyke, Luke Gibson (two) and a hattrick from substitute Lawal Lawal.

Deighton stay six points clear at the top of division 2 with goals from Ben Stott (two), Dareece Siddique (two) and Dante Newell in a 5-0 win over Cumberworth. Kirkheaton Rovers stay second following their 3-0 over neighbours Kirkburton with goals from Nathan Goddard (two) and Gavin Armitage. Netherton go third, 1 point behind Kirkheaton with games in hand, following their 6-1 win at Diggle. Gerard Forde scored for Diggle and Netherton’s scorers were Ethan Horsfall, Alex Vickerman, Joel Rushworth and a hattrick from Adam Lightowlers.

In division 3 AFC Volunteers stay third following their 2-2 draw with Fenton United.

Holmbridge cruised through to the next round of the Sheffield Association Challenge Cup with a 5-1 win over Sheffield County Senior League side Askern Miners with goals from Daniel Parr (three) and a goal each from Seb and Charlie Allen.

In the West Riding County Challenge Cup Linthwaite Athletic were knocked out 7-6 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw with Barnoldswick Town from the East Lancashire League Premier Division.

Newsome went through to the next round of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup beating Scissett 4-2 with goals from Deon Simmonds (two), Devonte Gayle and Josh Tyrell with Chris Martin scoring a brace for Scissett.

In the Barlow Cup all three ties were decided on penalties. Heywood Irish Centre drew 2-2 with Moorside but lost 5-4 on penalties. Holme Valley Academicals drew 2-2 with Britannia Sports and went through 5-4 on penalties. Brook Motors travelled to Shepley and following a hugely entertaining 7-7 draw lost 5-4 on penalties.

Brighouse Athletic progressed into the next round of the Groom Cup with goals from Perry Connor (two) and Jonathan Jones in a 3-0 win over Hade Edge. Ben Lindley scored both goals as Honley knocked out neighbours Wooldale Wanderers 2-1. James Knowles (three), Jack Ellis-Pownall (two), Nick Whiteley and Tom Kelly scored as Meltham Athletic went through to the next round in a 7-1 win away at Mount.

In reserve division 1 Heywood Irish Centre beat AFC Lindley 3-0 and Cumberworth lost to Newsome 6-1. Ryan Fisher, Bradley Ramsden-Reilly, Amari David and Salyfullah Sulymans (two) scoring for Newsome. Fothergill and Whittles stay in top spot with a 7-2 win at Kirkburton with goals from Jake Wilkinson., Jacob Bradley, Ben Wilkinson, Jonathan Barnes and Tim Astley (three). Alex Goodliffe scored both for Kirkburton.

Lewis Elsy, Marcus Moorhouse, Gary Parr, Will Reeves and Jamie Walker scored as Holmbridge went three points clear at the top of reserve division 2 with a 5-0 win at Netherton. Josh Moore and Bradley Howe scored as Slaithwaite United beat Holme Valley Academicals 2-1 with Matthew Webster scoring for the Accies.

Kirkheaton Rovers remain in top spot in reserve division 3 with goals from Levi Brown, Bradley Broadbent, Callum Chima and Waqhar Uddin in a 4-0 win over Mount. Fothergill and Whittles Thirds are second on goal difference following their 6-0 win over Honley with goals from Ben Jorgensen Tyler Pickersgill, Michael Rothwell (two) and Nathan Shepherd (two). Sam Carr (two) and Daniel Hone scored as Diggle beat Wooldale Wanderers 3-2 with Anthony Hutt and Eli Bell scoring for Wooldale.

In the Richardson Cup Brook Motors beat Grange Moor Saints 4-2 with goals from Richard Botchway (two), James Lendon and Felix Beaumont with Nathan Bee and Jordan Wells scoring for the Saints. Britannia Sports drew with Meltham Athletic 1-1 and went through to the next round 4-1 on penalties. Netherton drew with Linthwaite Athletic 1-1 and went through 5-4 on penalties. Hattricks from Jamal Bent and Dale Neary saw Berry Brow A through in a 6-1 win over Scissett. Skelmanthorpe are also through beating Deighton 6-1 with goals from Dan Wainwright (two), Richard Alderson (two), Nadan Barden and Jordan Geldart.

Almondbury Woolpack are through to the next round of the Gee Cup following their 2-1 win over Dalton Dynamos Thirds with goals from Ryan Kennedy and Kyle Coe-Firth with Jamal Bryce scoring for Dalton. Brook Motors Development are through to the next round following their 3-0 win over Cumberworth B. Berry Brow B are also through beating Hade Edge Development 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
