The weekends results and Wow what a great weekend of football!!

WOW - What a weekend!!

On Friday night we witnessed a final like no other in the Rose Bowl with Leysdown FC taking on Eastern Athletic FC.
Eastern had cruised into a 4-1 lead with 15 mins left of the 90 minutes when 3 goals went in from Leysdown by Chris Griffin and George Latham and Latham scoring the equaliser with 4 minutes remaining, Eastern then made a break with 1 minute left on the clock and the Leysdown keeper brought down the Eastern striker to be dismissed amongst the protests a further Leysdown player was dismissed, so up steps the reserve keeper Aaron Gray to save the penalty as the final whistle went.

Into extra time Eastern took the lead from Danny Rumbol but that didn't stop the 9 men Leysdown from attacking and with goals from Reiss Crimmen and George Latham bagging his hat trick to put the 9 men 6-5 up which was out it was playing out until 2 minutes from the end of the extra time up pops Tom Carlton to equalise for Eastern to send the game to penalties. Which Eastern won 4-2.

On Sunday more great success for the League and the Island as Range Rovers Sports FC went to the Gallagher Stadium to bring the Kent Sunday Junior Cup home with a 2-1 win over Craven Park FC. Its a great honour for the Club and also we are so proud that a team from our League have taken the top prize in Kent football.

Standford Hill FC clinched the Division One title with a 1-1 draw against Harps Inn FC, in Division Two Red Lion FC made it a winner takes all game next week against Sheerness East FC for the title after they beat New Road (Core Logistics) FC 3-0 and Park Regis Warriors FC put one hand on the Div 3 title with a convincing 5-0 win over New Road FC.
