The big game in the Premier Division between Basingstoke Royals and Rising Sun DC was a called off

as the pitch at Preston Candover was still frozen when inspected in the morning. The other match did take placed was at Bramley where United played Hook for the third time and the outcome was a 3-2 win for the visitors. Sam Cato beat the offside trap to give Bramley a 10th minute lead and Tom Davies forced good saves from Jake Lear before he was beaten in the 30th minute when a cross from Davies gave Dan Mason an easy tap in. A free kick in the 55th taken by Cato was half cleared and Ben Squibb volleyed home for the United lead. Davies converted a penalty and Andy Parker scored to see Hook go home with the points.

In Division Two Basingstoke Labour Club moved into second spot in the table after a 3-1 win against bottom of the table AFC Berg. Cameron George gave them a 20th minute lead, but Berg hit back to level through Kieran Allayne by half time. With no referee arriving Berg were unhappy with the agreed referee’s decisions and fell behind when Mark Thorpe put away a Wayne Barlow free kick. It was a clever back heel from Barlow that led to George scoring his second and make sure of the points. Winklebury Wizards remain unbeaten in the league after winning 3-2 at home to Sherborne St John Reserves. Wizards were shaken when the newly signed Rob Perrett gave Sherborne a 4th minute lead, but by the 18th they were level when Daniel Goodyear set up Louis Clayton to level. Sherborne were always in the game and a minute before the break Tim Harrison flicked on a corner for James Price to see them 2-1 ahead. There was a lot of pressure on the Sherborne goal where Russ Hancock pulled off some fine saves from Matt Lowe and Josh Dickens before he was beaten in the 65th. It was a throw in from Lowe and an excellent half volley finish from Hugo Carlos that gave him no chance and then in the 78th came the winner when Ryan Watts came off the bench and scored following a Goodyear corner.
