Kirby Muxloe ease 3 points ahead.
Leaders Kirby Muxloe made bottom placed Thurnby Rangers pay for their unexpected defeat last week with a 12-0 thrashing after both Marc Aston and Malc Schulz posted hat tricks. The victory eased them 3 points ahead of Barrow Town who went down 1-2 to Highfield Rangers who moved out of the bottom 2 after 2 wins on the spin.
In the event of the top 2 slipping Hinckley Downes maintained their presence, 7 points adrift, with a 3-1 defeat of Rothley Imps after Michael Forrester netted a goal in each half.
A Clinton Gunn double edged Saffron Dynamo to their 1st win in 5 starts, 3-2 over Bardon Hill Sports, and made a top 4 finish feasible after the victory opened up a 10 point gap to 5th placed St Andrews, who went down 1-2 at home to bottom 2 placed Ratby Sports who made it 5 without defeat with their 2nd win on the spin.
Holwell Sports moved back into the top 6 with a 4-0 defeat of Thurmaston Town whilst a goal in each half from Steve Conway gave Birstall Utd a 2-1 victory over Anstey Nomads.
Kev Dunn continued to celebrate his promotion to 1st team duty with a brace against Senior Cup Finalists Blaby and Whetstone Athletic as Ellistown made it 3 wins on the spin with a 3-2 victory which leaves the Athletic at the bottom of the 10 pack, from which 8 will go forward to the new step 6 league next season.
