League and The Passey/Triggs Trophy results

Passey/Triggs Trophy 2024-25 & Cheshire FA Sunday Cup
The newly named Passey/Triggs Trophy began today in respect of two departed LMC officials who were excellent servants to the league. Teams from each division were drawn to compete within mini divisions and group format, with the eventual top two teams progressing to the quarter finals. No league fixtures took place.
Group A
In Group A Trident opened their account with a 4-0 victory over FC Greasby as Joe Thompson, Kyle Bennett, George Baker and Tom Rowlands found the net.
Oldershaw overcame New Brighton Town in a very even affair with a 3-2 verdict due to Tom Clegg, Caston Ball-Lalemi and Curtis Ledsom-Robinson scoring. Hitting the replies were Ewan Sait and Oscar Pugh.
Group B
Group B action saw Vineyard and Liscard Brazil share the points in a 3-3 draw, as Jamie Payne-2 and Callum Morrison scored for Vineyard and Jake Williams, Jake Adams and Morgan George replied for second division Liscard in a cracking game.
Lottie Dod where surprised by second division new boys AFC Bromborough who beat them 3-1 thanks to Kieran Hughes bagging a brace and an own goal completed the scoring.
Group C
In Group C second division Barnston FC defeated first division Wallasey Wanderers due to singles from George Wilson, Chris Howell and Jamie Mitchell, with Jack Neilson and Dave Wood hitting the responses for Wallasey.
Park Royal top the group after their 5-2 success over Bromborough Athletic.
Group D
Shore Villa head the Group D table after their 3-0 success over Cheshire Vikings thanks to a Ben Windle hat-trick
North West Harriers edged out AFC Shore Villa due to Luke Roberts scoring the only goal in a 1-0 result.
Cheshire FA Sunday Cup action saw Finnigan FC relinquish a two-goal half time lead versus AFC Carnforth and drew 2-2 after 90 minutes. Bagging their goals were Dale Crawford and Anthony Phillips, but they lost the penalty shoot-out 4-3.
PLCCFC also failed to progress when being beaten by Rock Ferry Social 5-2, as Dan Hardman and Owen Ainscough netted the consolation goals.
