Wythenshawe are flying high!
Premier Division
Due to a number of cup games this week, there were only five fixtures in the Premier Division this weekend.
Wythenshawe Town take top spot at the end of the week with an impressive 1-4 victory away at Knutsford through goals from Salmon X2, Curley and Dunn. This game made Wythenshawe the first team to reach the 20 point mark this campaign. However, Linotype Cheadle Heath Nomads have a game in hand, due to their cup game, and will be looking to take top spot back next week.
Crewe FC took just one point out of a possible six this week as they lost in midweek at home to Rudheath Social (5-3) and then drew at home to Rylands, a game which they led at half-time.
Whaley Bridge defeated Malpas 6-1 to drag themselves closer to the leaders, with the High Peak locals now just two points off the top in third place. Eagle Sports finish the week, as they did last week, at the foot of the table and still searching for their first point.
This week, they fell victim to a loss away to Congleton Vale and a heavy one at that, with Congleton taking all three points thanks to a 5-0 victory over bottom side, Eagle Sports.
Altrincham FC Reserves and Garswood United played out an entertaining 4-2 result that sees the Robins move up a fair few places up to 6th after a fairly once-sided affair that saw the majority of its action in the second half. Garswood were unlucky not to be able to pull the game back as they fought back valiantly to get two goals before the end.
League One
There were more games this week in League One than there were in the Premier Division. Warrington Town Reserves remain top of the league this week with two wins.
One at home to Middlewich Town, a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Jack Rudge and John Humphreys, and the other, a 4-1 win away at West Didsbury & Chorlton Reserves. Billinge are level on points with Warrington as they dropped points at home to Middlewich Town, a 3-3 draw with the Witches leaves them on 17 points alongside Warrington.
Daten defeated Halebank 2-1 thanks to goals from Leon Goulden and Adam McLoughlin, while Tarporley Victoria remain bottom of the league on two points following a 4-3 loss to AFC Macclesfield who picked up four points this week after also drawing 2-2 with Golborne Sports in midweek. The other game this week was between FC St Helens and Pilkington FC which saw the home side walk away with all three points following a 1-0 victory.
League Two
In the two games played in League Two this weekend, there were an astonishing twenty one goals scored. Over half of those were scored by one team, Orford FC, who beat AFC Denton 11-1 in what has to be one of the most one-sided games of the season so far.
The other game in League Two provided 9 goals for spectators as it finished 4-5. The victors were Cuddington FC who came from 3-2 down at half-time to take the spoils in what is arguably game of the day across all of the Cheshire Football League.
Reserve League One
There were four games in the top Reserves division this weekend and we saw 14 goals.
Poynton put in a dominating display as they beat Daten Reserves 5-0 at home to move the SK natives above the Warrington locals and into 7th place in the table.
Linotype Cheadle HN moved level on points with leaders Greenalls PSO as they beat Garswood United 0-1. Greenalls dropped points themselves as they lost to Billinge 1-2 through goals from Liam Bowden (X2).
Reserve League Two
There were no league games in Reserves League Two this weekend due to cup fixtures.
