Whaley remain in pole position...

Premier Division


Whaley Bridge remain top of the league this week as they defeated Congleton Vale at Ivy Gardens. This 0-1 victory moves Bridge onto 27 points with their ninth win of the season.

Wythenshawe Town find themselves second at the end of the week following a goalless draw against Greenalls Padgate St. Oswalds. Town are beginning to fall behind Whaley Bridge and have Linotype Cheadle HN breathing down their necks in third after a disappointing result in Baguley.


Just one point separates Denton Town and Crewe, as was the case at the beginning of the week, following their entertaining 2-2 draw at Whittles Park. The Tameside locals came back from being 1-2 down at half-time to come away with a point thanks to goals from Thomas Bane and Kamahl Wright.


Garswood United and Styal played out a 1-1 stalemate in Merseyside. This result moves neither side out of trouble, with both clubs sitting in lower-midtable on eight and ten points respectively.


Knutsford move upto fourth in the league after they beat Malpas 3-1 on Manchester Road. Knutsford’s goals came via Sean Lynch and substitutes, Liam Crellin-Myers and Matthew Torbitt.


League One

Cheadle Town Reserves suffered yet another defeat this week as they fell victim to FC St.Helens and a 2-4 loss at Park Road Stadium. This result moves St Helens into fourth in the table and leaves Cheadle towards the foot of the league.


Golborne Sports and West Didsbury & Chorlton Reserves come out evens in a thrilling affair which saw five goals in the second half. The game finished 3-3 with the Manchester locals pulling the game back from being 1-0 down at the half-time break. Golborne’s goals came via Gary Shannon and Martin Rennox X2, while West Didsbury and Chorlton Reserves’ goals came via Luke Hanley and James Tootle X2.


Lostock Gralam defeated Halebank 2-1 at the Park Stadium in a game that sees the Northwich side become one of four teams level on points in joint second place.

The result at Mersey Valley saw two of the other three sides on twenty points at the end of this week play each other. Valley defeated Billinge and makes the challenge for the title even more interesting.


Middlewich were defeated 1-3 by Egerton in an entertaining game that saw the Northwich locals overtaken by their opponents, dropping down to eleventh.

League Two


AFC Denton suffered their eighth consecutive defeat this season with a 8-1 loss to Windle Labour, leaving them stuck to the bottom of the league.

Deva Christleson moved up to third in the table following their 1-3 victory over Cuddington and Moore United and Sandbach United Reserves remain a point apart following their 1-1 draw.


Broadheath Central surprisingly lost 1-2 to Ford Motors, a result that still keeps Broadheath top of the table despite the loss.

Winstanley Warriors also won, moving them up to seventh place in a very cluttered midtable.
