League action...

Arena-Group moved into second place in the Premier Division with a solitary Marc Holmes goal win over St Nicholas. They also received the news that they gained a further two points for a game with Broadhall, where the latter fielded an ineligible player. They now look to be challengers to Dun Cow.

Broadhall led 2-0 at the break thanks to Scott Durham and an outrageous effort from Declan McMahon. Ashley Kersey reduced the deficit for MBDA before Craig Sutherill broke through and finished well in the last minute for a point as they moved into fourth.

Dan Bond and Rob Verdia netted as Real Stevenage beat Stevenage Leisure Limited 2-0.

Marquis of Lorne consolidated their place at the top of Division One. However, TC United took the lead when Terry Lock's cross was brought down and curled into the bottom corner by Danny Bowey. Lorne then gained a hold on the game and netted twice in ten minutes through Joe Delasalle and Tom Younger to take a lead into the break. On the hour mark it was 3-1 when Chris Benton's attempts to clear the ball from a Tom Hillard corner backfired as he punched the ball into his own net. TC rallied during the last twenty minutes and captain Richard Minnis rifled in a half-volley to pull a goal back, but the leaders held out with relative ease to claim the points.

Putterills started the better team and took the lead after fifteen minutes when a corner fell to the head of Allan Johnston, who lost his marker to bury the ball. FC Mallard came back into the game and Dan Welch missed three good chances to level before his brother Steve Welch scored with a header for the second week running after Si Jervis flicked on a throw. The second-half saw Putterills retake the lead when a corner was met sweetly by Dave Banks at the near post despite the attention of Jervis. The scores were level straight from the kick-off when Si Parnell chased a lost cause and eventually Dan Welch side-footed home. A wonder finish from Parnell from a seemingly impossible angle with the outside of his foot put Mallard in front before Dan Welch's deft touch at the near post found the far corner for 4-2. Putterills pushed for another and it came when a save from Marc Dunn fell to Greg Collins to smash home. Two sublime finishes from substitute Rob Barton then followed, one from a George Lawson through-ball and the other from a Tony Webb pass as they ran out 6-3 winners. It was their fourth league win on the trot as they moved to third, two points behind their victims.

AJS Tyres Broadhall were missing a number of players, but in a bright start, saw 52-year-old debutant Mark Stevens roll back the years as he charged down a clearance from ‘keeper Rob Cooper and slotted the ball home from a tight angle. Coopers United gradually got into the game and equalised after 20 minutes and were 4-1 up a few minutes into the second-half. It was 7-1 by the end for this young Broadhall team's heaviest league defeat since forming in 2009. Danny Hillard hit a hat-trick, brother Gary Hillard got two against his former side, whilst Chris Chalat and Christian Goodyear also scored.

Breachwood Lions pulled clear of Pear Tree in third in Division Two after another good result. A Dan Jefferies knock down fell into the path of Richard Taaffe to shoot across the ‘keeper for his 16th goal of the season. The persistence of Simon Blondell, whose deflected shot went over the line after hitting the post gave them a 2-0 lead before half-time. Blondell was tripped in the area and Jefferies converted the spot-kick. Pear Tree rallied and scored on the counter attack through Dean Chadderton and Reece Munford before Lions secured the points when substitute Ed Wharton’s long throw was headed home by Jefferies for 4-2. Pear Tree then had a man sent-off.

Adam Buckingham, Collins Nwanazia and Ben Snowden were on target in Crooked Billet Boro’s 3-1 win over Hartham Press. James Khakpour-Smith scored the consolation.

Broadhall Icon continued their 100 percent start in Division Three with a 2-1 win thanks to an Aaron Penfound header just five minutes from time. Stevenage Old Town had taken the lead through Ben Gumble before Dave Clemence equalised by lobbing the ‘keeper.

TC Wanderers found themselves in front inside five minutes when Ryan Bailey wrapped his arms around the forward to concede a penalty, coolly converted by Nathan Searle. ABC Taxis equalised when Karl Cleverdon chased down a through-ball which the ‘keeper and defender managed to lose between them and he had the easy task of rolling the ball into an empty net. Chances in the second-half where at a premium and both sides wasted those that came along until ABC scored the decisive goal with twenty minutes left when the ‘keeper failed to collect a free-kick and John Saunders snapped up the chance from six yards.

Granby are the closest challengers after a Leigh Carmody strike and an own goal saw off The Old Post Office, 2-1. Karl Rickaby scored the consolation.

View Point Wanderers were still looking for their first point of the season and took the lead when Cameron Bridger ghosted through and chipped the ball over the advancing ‘keeper. Proverbial United started to dominate possession and twice had one-on-one chances well saved by the ‘keeper. A scramble in the box left Steve Peary free to guide the ball into the net for 1-1. Josh Stock swung a corner in and was accurate enough to swing straight inside the near post for the winner. Sam Stephenson was unlucky to see his forty-yard volley swerve onto the post without the keeper moving. With a minute on the clock a rash challenge earned Wanderers a chance to level from the spot, but the ball was put wide.
