Despite the horrendous weekend weather, most of the matches in the Westward Developments Devon Women's Football League were played.
The only two postponed were at the coastal venues on either side of the county. Ilfracombe Town at home to Buckland Athletic and Shaldon Villa versus Lakeside Athletic were both postponed.
In the Premier Division, Activate bounced back from their opening day defeat by winning 5 - 3 at home to last season's Division One winners, Halwill FC. Wensdy Wise scored twice, with Chelsea Semmens, Steph Warren and Kirsty Jones scoring one each. Kelly Gilbert, Claire Charnock and Siobhan Aslett replied for the visitors.
Axminster Town were the day's top scorers hitting nine past newbies, Cullompton Rangers, who were unable to find the net at all. Hope Griesy Esperance helped herself to four goals, Bianca Rocha bagged a hat trick and Lou Wyatt scored the other two against a valiant Rangers team.
The other new team, Signal Box Oak Villa welcomed Ottery St Mary where both sides treated the spectators to a feast of goals and end to end football. Two goals from Victoria Jasper and one apiece from Stacey Lewis, Alysha Wilson and Ellie Glynn were just enough to give the home side a 5 - 4 win. The Otters replied with two goals from Meg Williams and singles from Georgia Chapman and Lauren West.
Plainmoor Ladies made the long journey to east Devon to play Seaton Town and returned home empty handed, having lost by two goals to nil. Flo Coleman and Sophie Northover notched the goals that gave the home side the points.
