LEAGUE CUP
The outstanding Quarter Final saw Birstall United reach the Semi Finals as they defeated Allexton & New Parks 4-1. Charlie Young, James Pearce, Lewis Murphy and Remy Clarke hitting the target for Birstall with Allextons’ reply coming from Sam Lee.
The revised Semi Final draw is now as follows with dates to be played
Wednesday 1st April St Andrews v Birstall United
Wednesday 8th April Aylestone Park 94 v Lutterworth Athletic
The Final has now been scheduled and will be played on Wednesday 6th May at Quorn FC
NORTHERN DIVISION
Things are now hotting up with at least 5 teams in with a chance of the Championship. Gresley move into top spot on goal difference as they had a 5-0 away win over Ibstock United with Josh Dutton (2), Albert Lansdowne, Zaki Evans and Connor Ward on target for the Moatmen. Ashby Ivanhoe suffered their 1st defeat of the season and slip down to 3rd as they were beaten 2-0 by Anstey Nomads, who now have an outside chance of taking the title. Kai Tonge bagging himself a couple in Ansteys’ victory. Quorn 2014 drop to 2nd as they didn’t play. Ibstock United currently sitting in 6th also have an outside chance if results go their way.
SOUTHERN DIVISION
Lutterworth Athletic now have one hand on the title as they defeated Aylestone Park Youth 4-0 with Shay Brennan, Alex Rhodes, Ben Stephens and Josh Limbrick all scoring. They now need 3 points from their final 2 fixtures to be certain of the title. Depending on results, Aylestone Park 94 are now the only team that can catch them as they had a 8-0 victory over St Andrews with Callum Armsden (4), Kieran Mackie (2), Ryan Calver and Bradley Roehrig all scoring.
