The problems for the Welly Old Boys Manager continue as his side were beaten 7-2 by Hook when he could only field nine men.
This was the only Premier Division match and surprisingly it was Welly taking the lead after twenty minutes, a 20 yard shot from Tom Roworth beating the keeper. Parker soon equalized and a lay off by Peter Silvester led to Peter Pike giving Hook the lead. Dave White added another before the break and after this Parker scored four in a row to take his tally to five before Jenkins netted the second for Welly.
In Division Two the star studded Basingstoke Athletic move to the top of the table with their fourth league win, looking much too strong for Herriard Sports, beating them 8-1 With former R& B Sports and New Inn players Matt Button, Dale Bristow and Ryan Evans in their ranks, all three netted in the first half before Karl Buttle managed to pull a goal back for Herriard. Both Button and Bristow completed their hat tricks after the break and Evans netted his second. Basingstoke United moves into second place after beating Sherborne St John Reserves 2-0. It was not until the 70th minute when United broke the deadlock, but only a good save from United keeper, James Sallows, an ex Sherborne player, stopped Nick Coombs giving the visitors the lead. The opening goal came when after a strong run down the left from Danny Southgate led to Ash Pearce scoring for the |United lead and within five minutes they went 2-0 ahead when Southgate
received a pass from Sam Barton and lobbed Russ Hancock from 20 yards out.
