Saturday saw four ties in the Everards Tiger League Cup. Shock of the round came at Lutterworth Road, where Div2 new boys Whetstone Athletic turned it on at half-time against Premier Division side Sileby Town. It was level at 1-1 at the break, Tom Pope having scored for Sileby, but Whetstone smashed four without reply in the second half to win 5-1, a brace of braces from Ryan Richmond and sub Harvey Coulson, with Tom Bonser also scoring for Whetstone.

There were no shocks in the rest of the matches though. Magna 73 only just scraped through away at Div1 side St Patricks, having been losing 2-1 at half-time when the first attempt was halted due to waterlogging, but this time round, it was Magna who were 1-0 up at the break, and despite a fightback from Pats, Magna came through 3-2, Spencer Beck, Luis Corcoran and Nathan Merrikin scoring for Magna, Ashley Day and Nikesh Godharia for St Patricks.

Meanwhile, there was almost a banana skin for Thurnby Rangers, who looked home and hosed when 3-0 up at half-time against Div1 team Dunton & Broughton United thanks to goals from Farran Pope, Caleb Oloro and Alfie Mansell, but DBU struck back in the second period thanks to goals from Ben Marvell and Jancy Mboma, and looked like they might nick one and take the tie to penalties, but Thurnby scored again deep into injury time through sub Muntadher Tunimi to win 4-2. There was an all-Premier tie at Judgemeadow College, which went the way of the form book, as second-placed Anstey Town won 3-0 away at mid-table side FC Khalsa, Joe Harris, Conor Jackson and Josh Parker scoring for Anstey, who were 1-0 up at half-time.

Just one tie is outstanding in the first round now of the Tiger Cup, an all-Div2 tie between Glen Villa and Brookside Athletic at Great Glen. That tie will take place next Saturday. The President's Trophy first round has now been completed. The draw for the next rounds have not yet been done, but will be published on Full-Time in due course, along with an announcement as to when those fixtures will take place. County Cup draws for the second round have been delayed, but will be taking place shortly, with ties scheduled on or around 2 November.
