Peter Raynbird Cup Second Round.
Twentyten are through to the Quarter Finals after beating Tadley Calleva A at Barlows Park 3-1. They took a 17th minute lead when Jake Tanner forced an error at the back, closing down his marker and sending in a fine cross for Joe Hill to convert.. Tadley had their chances to level when Peter White hit a good ball from Jason Graham over the bar and Stephen Burgess also failed to find the target and then in the 44th minute a cut back from Graham was fired home by Cameron Sweeney and they were level. The visitors regained their lead in the 73rd when a shot by Tanner was parried by the keeper and Craig Atkinson put away the rebound. Graham missed a great chance to level when he shot wide and Theodore went close and then in added time Tanner made sure of a place in the last eight with a well placed shot from the edge of the box. The Tadley Manager Bradley Nash felt his team played well, but did not do quite enough to win, although he final score was not a true reflection on the whole game.
It is Division Two Sherborne Saints who will meet Twentyten in the Quarter Finals after they proved too good for Bounty United who were beaten in the final by the disbanded D.C.U.K. 3-2 after extra time last season. They went a goal down after ten minutes when a throw in by Tobi Judd found Alex Izzo, who beat keeper Richie Vinn. Jordon Willis and Ashley Neal had chances for the cricketers, but it was Saints better finishers and after a corner by Andy Darmody, Sam Hylton headed in at he near post. In the 38th it became 3-0 when a through ball from Dan Grimes found Matt Kelly, who scored in a one on one. Things did not get any better for Bounty in the second half when Hylton was on the end of an Izzo free kick and then with ten to go Luke Morgan headed home a cross from John Uezzell.
AFC Berg continues their excellent season with another Division One scalp, this week beating Herriard Sports 2-1 away. It was goal lees in the first half, although an offside flag stopped Ashley Elward giving Berg the lead. It was in the 54th minute when Herriard went ahead. It was from a penalty, put away by Jason Minton after Reece Chapman had brought down Chris Dobbie. It was also a penalty that brought the equaliser in the 72nd, converted by Carlos Gonzales. Craig Lewington did hit the bar for Herriard and Sam Weber shot a good chance wide for Herriard, but the winner, scored in the 80th minute, was a simple tap in for Paul Crow after a complete mix up at the back when the home defence failed to clear the danger.
It is Overton United A who will meet Berg will in the Quarter Finals after they beat AFC Aldermaston Reserves 4-2 at Berrydown , but it went into extra time before they won 4-2..
Aldermaston took a 12th minute lead through Ricky Waknell after a lay off from Matt Hoyte. In the 25th Sylvani Thomas beat keeper Matt Desay in a one on one when put through by Matt Wood to level and by half time they were 2-1 up after a Nino Franco corner was put away by Jezz Reynolds. Steve Francis put Aldermaston level and with neither side able to score again it brought extra time. Overton proved the better side in the extra half hour with Kyle Buckland taking on two men and sending Franco through to again beat Desay. Overton made sure in the 108th minute when a 40 yard free kick from Franco was headed on by Thomas for Buckland to net the fourth.

Basingstoke B Cup
Chris Chaplin has stepped down as manager of Basingstoke Athletic, but will continue as secretary. Players Lee O’Grady and Paul Taylor have taken over and they started in good style by beating Origin Headley 2-1 in the Basingstoke B Cup. Paul Taylor had a goal disallowed for offside before Origin took the lead in the 25th minute when Johnnie Gurney scored on the break. It was from a penalty in the 35th given for a late tackle by Leo Pedro on Jack Wales that gave Athletic their equaliser, converted by Kieran Challis. Five minutes before the break Athletic scored again and this proved the winner. A corner taken by Taylor was met with a header from George Byrne and deflected in off a defender. Chances fell to both Ash Russell and Lewis Greenhalf as Origin pressed strongly, one was in the last minute.
Basingstoke Saturday League Division Two
Longdog Soldiers had their second win of the season by beating AFC Aldermaston A 3-2 away. Sam Trodd opened the scoring for them in the 25th minute from a well taken free kick, but Aldermaston came back to level thorough Nick Stones with a glancing header. Although they had dominated the first half, Longdog fell behind when Matt Haines made it 2-1. They were not behind for long, Joe Oates sent a good ball through for Trodd to score his second. Jake Barnes in the Longdog goal saved well to keep Longdog on level terms when they went down to ten men and then in the 85th minute came their winner. Max Trodd with good play and centre and Joe Oates, in the right position to put the chance away.
Somesay go top of Division Two after beating Chineham 2-0 and so and go a point clear of favourites for the title Sherborne Saints. Hayden Chalker gave them the lead from a penalty after a Graham Jenkins foul in the box. Before half time it became 2-0 when a ball from Harry Knabb was picked up by Joe Hodge who chipped the keeper. Somesay had the chances to increase their lead when Hodge hit the post and shot over the bar in a one on once with keeper Nick Tucker, who also pulled off another good save when Chalker was through. Ricky Smith did have a chance for Chineham but shot wide, but Somesay were well deserved winners and could have had a more convincing victory.
