Rich Hall, hat-trick in the County Cup for Nirankari Timebridge...

Chequers and Timebridge Fly The Flag... Just two of our eight sides made it through to the fourth round of the Herts Intermediate Cup, writes Darren “Statto” Jones (statto@cssfl.info).

FC Nirankari’s journey in the FA National Sunday Cup is over after New Salamis thrashed them 5-0 at Top Field.

The victorious Herts Intermediate Cup sides were our top two in Division Two. Chequers were under pressure from the start and Carl Thompson was called into action to make some good saves. Steve Teale gave them the lead with a curling free-kick and from then on it was one-way traffic. Filip Drahovsky hit a speculative 40 yard volley which dropped in over the Sun and Harrow ‘keeper. Paul Osbourne added a third before Teale doubled his tally with a fierce shot from the edge of the box. The game was sealed midway through the second-half when Thompson slotted home from the spot.

Nirankari Timebridge AFC also went through, Queens Head on the wrong end of a 5-1 score-line thanks to a hat-trick from Richard Hall and two from Joel Mason.

It took extra-time for A1 Trophies to be eliminated at Metropolitan Police Bushey. Tallem Dennis, Si Longman and Trevor Long on the mark in the 6-3 defeat.

Louis Gilbert and Ryan Palmer netted in vain as Odyssey lost 3-2 to Thames Albion.

Stuart Smillie (two), Ashley Sealy and Lewis Sealy scored as Emperors Head were beaten in an 8-4 thriller by Barge.

Chitalo Chitondo, Callum Russell and Tom Rydehead were on target in Rileys Athletic’s 4-3 defeat to Northaw.

Anthony Lanni (two) and Russell Ayles registered on the scoresheet as MKS Carpentry were hammered 8-3 against Lea Sports PSG.

Old Barclayvians went out 4-0 to Thorley Saints.
