Capenhurst Villa who lifted the Wirral DFA Senior Cup after a solitary effort from John Britton denied newly crowned Division One champions, Mersey Royal.

A Mark Owens double, supplemented by further efforts from Owen Cassidy and Caleb Jones steered Mossley Hill Ath to a 4-1 victory over Maghull and saw their side finish runners-up to Mersey Royal in the race for the MSC Express West Cheshire League's Division One title. Robbie McDonald netted the visitors' consolation, WRITES ERNIE MCDONALD.
In Division Two, leaders Poulton Victoria have completed their programme and only Helsby can pip them to the title, provided they win all of their games in hand. On Tuesday, third placed Ashville Res. took an early lead through Derek Taylor but the hosts' joy was short lived after a smart double from Lee Turkington earned Helsby maximum spoils.
Division Three action saw Kal Herbert (2) and Shaun Burgess find the net for Higher Bebington Kelma in their 3-3 stalemate at Chester Nomads Res.

Congratulations go to Capenhurst Villa who lifted the Wirral DFA Senior Cup after a solitary effort from John Britton denied newly crowned Division One champions, Mersey Royal, of a fourth piece of silverware for the season.
Despite a double from evergreen campaigner, Nathan Mapletoft, Ellesmere Port Town capitulated 4-2 in their Division One tussle with Aintree Villa, who sealed the issue with replies from Mark Barnes, Matty Wardell, Jack Terry and Sam Dahl.
Jacob Jones and Louie O'Brien bagged agoal apiece as Maghull Res. savoured a 2-1 decision over Runcorn Sports in Division Two, and Mallaby completed a back to back double over Cheshire Lines inspired by an outstanding individual opener from David Bockarie.
In Division Three, South Liverpool 3rds were indebted to goals from Joseph Adekunie (2) and Mike Thomas for their 3-0 verdict over Neston Nomads.

Capenhurst Villa Res. posted their fourteenth win of the season in Division Three when Matty Vickers (2) and Harley O'Brien-Williams found the net in a 3-0 result over local rivals, Heswall Res.

Newton had Ryan Beigan on target but forfeited the chance to finish up runners-up in Division One after Vauxhall Motors Res, emerged 2-1 victors, Jamie Eaton and Jack Darlington finding the net for Motors.
WEEKEND ACTION .................
Goals from Tom Haynes (2) and Matty Walsh anchored Heswall to a 3-0 victory over Ellesmere Port Town which saw the Gayton Park outfit avoid the Division One wooden spoon at the expense of their visitors.
Maghull won by the same scoreline against Litherland Remyca Res. courtesy of efforts from Darren Brannigan (2) and Robbie McDonald but a goal from Kieran Fair failed to prevent Capenhurst Villa from going down 2-1 to replies from Bootle St. Edmunds' Lewis O'Reilly and Mike Davies.
Elsewhere, efforts from Joe Prendergast and Luc Haralambous were enough as Marshalls eclipsed Rainhill Town 2-0.
Helsby now need maximum returns from their final four fixtures to pip Poulton Victoria for the Division Two title and on Saturday their challenge was boosted, after goals from Sam Stephens, Charlie Wiggins, Owen Kucharski, Lee Guirado and Alan Bond steered the second placed outfit to a 5-2 triumph over Marshalls Res. who had Jacob Till and Andrew Starkey in reply.
Maghull Res. were indebted to efforts from Isaac Jones, Louie O'Brien and an own goal for their 3-1 victory over Poulton Royal, John Hulmston scoring for the New Brighton side.
Nial McEnery hit the target for South Sefton Borough but it was the hosts Runcorn Sports who profited 2-1, with Alex Jones and Dan Cavanagh on target.
Saturday's Division Three action saw second placed Higher Bebington Kelma score through Ben Kierman but concede 3-1 to nearest rivals, South Liverpool 3rds who responded through Jordan Flynn, Jack Bryant and an own goal.
Hooton top scored on the day, Danny Cross (3) Nathan Saunders, Chay Dysart and Matty Westhead applying the finishing touches in a 6-1 rout of Rainhill Town Res. Darren Moran netted the visitors' consolation.
Respective marksmen in Poulton Victoria Res., 3-3 draw with Chester Nomads Res. were Harvey Sample (2) Kyle Ward, Spencer Postles (2) and Sam Christmas.
Only one fixture took place in the Youth Division and a 2-1 victory over Maghull thanks to goals from Kian Hamm and Dylan Owen gave Poulton Victoria their ninth win of the season, John Cullen netting for the visitors.
