Extra Time success for Great Baddow
Great Baddow F.C. 3 Tillingham Hotspur F.C. 2 aet.
A game that will be remembered for all of the wrong headlines but the goal that secured the trophy for Baddow was worthy of winning any Cup Final
Great Baddow raced into a two goal lead courtesy of a 6th minute header from Man of the Match Max Johnson, which was followed up in the 8th minute by a Dane Nelson goal following a lapse in concentration in the Tillingham defence.
The game was littered with fouls and infringements and a fairly mundane half was sparked into life by an incident in the 31st minute. A dreadful challenge by Joe Collins led to a coming together of players which saw both Jack Bowen of Tillingham and Ben Cross of Baddow dismissed for violent conduct with Collins also shown a straight red for serious foul play.
Baddow had to reshuffle the pack to compensate being one man down. With the clocking ticking down to half time in the third minute of stoppage time Tillingham secured a corner on the right and from the resultant cross Lawrence Hale was on hand to head home
Half Time Great Baddow F.C. 2 Tillingham Hotspur F.C. 1
Baddow started the brighter of the two sides and went close to extending their lead when the keeper Dinig was called on to make a fine save and the Tillingham defence managed to block the rebound.
Both Hubble and Hull wasted good opportunities for the Dengie based team when on 80 minutes Tillingham were awarded a penalty kick. Up stepped Hale to covert his second and so bring the scores level
Both teams created chances in the final 10 minutes of the half but failed to convert and so the game headed in an extra 30 minutes

In the 4 minute of extra time the ball broke to Grant Hill of Baddow who from 25 yards out stroked the ball into the far corner to restore the Chelsmford based teams advantage.
Hill went close again 5 minutes later when he ran clear only to see his shot kicked off the line
As both teams tired Baddow despite still being one player down held on to secure the Premier Division League Cup Trophy
In summary a highly ill disciplined game which saw 3 players dismissed, at least 7 others cautioned and a Manager dismissed on at least 3 occasions
