SCML Cup Semi Finals

Sunday 7th March 2010

It has been decided that the Cup Semi Final fixtures scheduled for 7th March should be switched with the League fixtures of 14th.

The reason for this is the that following their win at West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night Reading FC are now at home to Aston Villa in the quarter final of the FA Cup with a 1.45 kick off on 7th March. To allow those that wish to attend Reading FC’s game to do so, it would mean that our Semi Final fixtures would have to be played in the morning and it would then be difficult for the League to appoint 3 Officials to each game, hence the decision to make the switch. This will not affect the U11/ U12 League Cup fixtures as these are not yet at the Semi Final stage.

With regard to the League fixtures that will now be scheduled for the 7th those teams that will not be able to field a team will need to send in Form G in the normal way and advise their opposition and appointed official of the postponement. We would urge all teams to use their best efforts to get the games played given the fixture congestion that we have experienced this season. Those fixtures not played that cannot be rescheduled back to the original 14th March date will not be rescheduled until the end of the season.

Once a rescheduled date has been set for these fixtures if it cannot be played then it will be up to the 2 teams to decide on a mutually convenient date (under advice to their League Manager). If the fixture remains not played for whatever reason it will then be made void.
