Bronze Social turned their league form upside down when reaching the last 8 of this seasons Cheshire Amateur Cup. The Division 2 table trailers visited Stockport Georgians and returned home with a 3-1 extra time victory under their belts. James Harris led the way with a double which backed up a Sean Cassidy strike. Ellesmere Port also booked a quarter final place when putting a dent into the unbeaten record of Division 2 leaders Chester Nomads with an impressive 3-0 success. This followed a 2-2 draw and Steve Platts side will visit Northwich Villa in the next round.
As current County cup holders West Kirby were on duty representing Cheshire FA in the Northern Counties Championships. They were involved in a contentious contest with Westmoreland FAs Kendal County FC. A game of many chances was decided in Kirbys favour as early as the 8th minute when Adam Lea headed in Terry Cotgraves left wing free kick. A game which saw the referee take centre stage witnessed the visitors end the tie with 9 men while Kendal were reduced to 10.

A Mike Gurnley double featured for Lairds with Dave Davies netting Blacons consolation. Dave Swaine and Owen Davies were again on target for Heswall who moved into 3rd place after powering their way to a 4-0 victory at Christleton and a Nathan Mapletoft strike proved to be the deciding factor as Newton overcame host side Southport Trinity 1-0. Upton AA also tasted away day success when Steve Finlay and Mike Crank posted in their 2-1 win at Marine Reserves [Lewis Frances] while Marshalls [Phil Davies] were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Helsby [Russ Whitehead]
Mossley Hill Athletic continue to climb the Division 2 table and their 3-0 success over Beb Athletic came courtesy of efforts by Callum Holmes, 2, and Yusuf Malik. New Brighton lie in 3rd place after Matty Murphy and an unlikely Neil Ashurst double counted in the 3-1 defeat of Hale [Phil McCann] and Heswall Reserves were grateful to Adam Corless whose single goal proved to be enough to see off Mallaby. Elsewhere Maghull Reserves [Steve Carroll, Ian Johnson] overcame Prescott Cable Reserves 2-0 while Richmond Raith Rovers Paul Gouthwaite, 2,] defeated visiting Capenhurst Villa [Graeme Davidson] 2-1.
Division 3 leaders Runcorn Linnets Reserves returned to winning ways when easing to a 3-0 victory at Beb Athletic Reserves. Manor Athletic ran out 4-0 winners at Hale Reserves and Marshalls Reserves won by the same scoreline at Capenhurst Villa Reserves.
