The opening game in the Capitol Cup resulted in a 3-0 success for Wallasey Wanderers as they overcame North West Harriers thanks to a goal apiece from Matty Madden, Morgan Catterson and Jack Neilson.
Dutchman Cup
First round fixture in the Dutchman Cup saw Barnston FC lose their third game on the run as AFC Shore Villa ran out 4-1 winners with Jack Taylor bagging a hat-trick and Nathan Saunders a single, with Ben Ryan claiming the lone reply in a great team effort.
MES Ltd First Division
MES Ltd First Divisionfixtures saw Vineyard close the gap at the top to one point when defeating Oldershaw FC 3-1 thanks to a double from Jamie Payne and a single from Craig Bennett.
But keeping pace are Finnigan FC who are third by a point following their 10-0 defeat of Shore Villa as Stewart Speed bagged six goals and Jack Fletcher, Dale Crawford, Anthony Phillips and Adam Walker added the extras in this dominant performance.
Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division
Action from the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division saw FC Greasby take the spoils versus Bromborough Athletic with a slender 1-0 success as Dave Tacy netted the only goal.
A four-goal salvo by Greg Williams gave New Brighton Town a 4-2 victory over Park Royal to move into third place on goal difference. Royal had Jamie Woods and Tom Brunt hitting the responses.
Liscard Brazil remain mid-table after repelling Cheshire Vikings with a 6-1 verdict thanks to Jake Williams netting a treble, with Tyler Dodd, Shaun Reynolds and Sam Copley all hitting singles.
Battles in both divisions for supremacy are evenly matched as the top four teams set the pace in the title chases, but they all go on hold as it’s back to the Passey/Triggs Trophy group games next week.
