PUKKA PIES League Cup
Aylestone Park 94 defeated FC GNG 2-1, thanks to a Marshall Keenan brace after James Bessy had given GNG the lead. Aylestone Park Youth had an emphatic 6-1 victory over Birstall United with Stefan Bjelic (4), Josh Unsworth and Callum Steer all on target. Jake Simmons getting Birstalls’ consolation. Lutterworth Athletic Academy, at the sixteenth attempt, finally won a game as they had a 2-1 away win at Ibstock United with Tom Cockram the hero as he bagged both goals. John Roberts replying for Ibstock.
NORTHERN DIVISION
Coalville Town put one hand on the Championship as their nearest rivals Ashby Ivanhoe could only draw. Coalville travelled to Melton to face Holwell Sports and returned home with all 3 points after recording a 5-2 win. Sam Moore (2), Kyle Fowkes, Charlie Allred and Aaron Windrum with the Ravens goals with Jake Robson and Max Toon replying for Holwell. Ashby Ivanhoe shared the points in a 4-4 draw at Gresley. Callum Riddell (2), Harry Hughes and Charlie Stoddart for the Moatmen with Angus Blair Park and Tom Nolan both bagging braces for the Ivanhoe. As thing stand, Coalville need to win their final game of the season to land the title, however a draw could be good enough due to their superior goal difference. Anstey Nomads had a 3-1 victory over Barrow Town thanks to Jerome Agu (2) and Oliver Creese with Tyrell Brady replying for Barrow.
SOUTHERN DIVISION
Lutterworth Athletic move back into top spot after being held 2-2 by Aylestone Park Boys. Josh Limbrick and Graham Baggott for the Aths with Kieran Mackie and Callum Armsden replying for the Boys. Saffron Dynamo entertained local rivals Blaby & Whetstone Athletic and it was the latter who took the points in a 3-1 victory. Josh Seaton (2) and George Hughes for Blaby with Cam Atkinson replying for Saffron.
