Rising Sun DC move top of the Premier Division following their 2-1 win against Sherborne St John.

It is the fourth time these two have met this season and the latest was by far the best from Trevor Livingstone’s side. The pitch at Sherborne Road was really unplayable and cut up very badly making decent football very difficult but in a very close first half Sherborne hit the post through Ash Pirie and Sachin Rai went close before the deadlock was broken in the 65th minute. A poor clearance from Matt Livingstone in the Sherborne goal, fell to Shaun Searle and his cross gave Lee Chambers his opportunity to give Rising Sun the lead. Sherborne came back in the 70th when following a corner not cleared, Sachin Rai beat keeper Matt Powell with a fine ground shot., Livingstone played well to keep it level, but with five minutes to go the latest Rising Sun signing Luke Richardson, who came on a substitute, came up with the winner. It was an improvement this week for Welly Old Boys, with only a 6-0 defeat against Bramley United when Graham Jenkins had 13 players available. They were just the three goals down at the break. Sam Cato opened the scoring in the 7th minute from an Aaron Burt assist and then Burt made it 2-0. Simon Goff added a third from a cross from Adam Bartlett and into the second period Cato scored his second and Bartlett made it 5-0. Richie Budd and James Brown tested stand United keeper Ben Squibb before a deflected shot from Cato gave him his hat trick, the fifth time this season he has achieved it in his 26 tally.

In Division One the promotion battle continues for Overton United A manager Danny Smith as they head the division over their nearest rivals Hampshire Irons by eight points. This week his team disposed of DJS Telecoms with a 3-1 win at Berrydown, making it nine points taken against them. In the 12th minute Jesse Todd beat the offside trap following a through ball from Luke Neller and it was Todd with the second soon after. DJS improved and pulled a goal back before half time following a solo run by Lee Neal and good finish. It was always tight until in the 80th minute when a ball from Nathan Bennis exposed the DJS defenders and Siyanni Thomas added the third. Hampshire Irons started well enough against Twentyten by taking a 15th minute lead when James Arnold beat keeper Jack Nicholson with a well placed shot. Carl Pearson headed home a cross from Jordon Wainwright to level on 30 minutes and five minutes later Joe Hill drifted past two men and squared for Wainwright to beat keeper Jack Rickard. Both keepers were in action for much of the second half in this very even contest, with Twentyten in the end emerging 2-1 winners.

In Division Two Bounty United retain top spot on goal difference over Labour Club.. It was Overton United B they defeated, being much the better side throughout and winning 9-4. Mitchell Stokes scored a hat trick, his first two coming after Player/Manager Jordon Willis had given his side the lead. Matt Love added a fourth and Paul Barton the fifth before Overton replied with two goals before half time. Brad Neal headed the sixth and Stokes completed his hat trick. The other two for Bounty came from Mike Gilham and Willis his second. The Overton scorers were Tito Martins, Les Watts, Liam Randall and substitute Darryl Taylor. Labour Club took on Preston Candover and returned 4-1 winners. They were well on top from the off and went into a three goal lead in the first half. Cameron George opened the scoring and his good play led to Mike Hill scoring twice. Dan Trump converted a penalty following a Barney Powell foul to make it 3-1, but George came up with the fourth in a closer second half. Herriard Sports were back in a goal scoring mood against AFC Aldermaston A and won 5-2. With Sam Weber back they played much better this week and it was a pass from Weber that handed the opener for Karl Buttle and more good work from Weber and Buttle saw them two up a the break when Craig Lewington found the net. Lewington then beat the offside trap to make it 3-0 before Paul Mellor pulled a goal back for the visitors. Lewington then completed his hat trick from Buttle assist and it became 5-1 when Scott Donnelly pulled as good ball back
