Leagues Covid-19 Update1 - 19th Sept 20
Covid-19 League Update - 19th Sept 2020
• Currently, all Grassroots football can continue to play their fixtures.
There is widespread news advising otherwise, and this is generating ‘Alarmism’ amongst individuals within the Grassroots community.
As long as the guidelines are followed there should be no reason to not fulfil a fixture; although if teams are unable to provide enough players due to parental concerns then this would be dealt with by the leagues management committee.
• The current Restrictions in Bradford does NOT make reference to organised sporting activities are to be cancelled.
The guidance can be read here: https://www.bradford.gov.uk/health/health-advice-and-support/faqs-covid-19-restrictions-for-bradford-district/
It clearly states that individuals CAN travel to and from Bradford!

• Latest Guidelines issued by West Riding FA.
Every team should be adhering to the guidelines as published by the FA via the local section, West Riding County FA, who affiliates the Craven Aire Wharfe Junior Football League (CAWJL) and where the league takes guidance from. You may get your Coach/Manager to acquire a copy of your oppositions Covid-19 Policy, to see what is in place and what to expect. Should you have any concerns over the what is in place then please make contact with your Club Secretary and they will notify either the league or County; please don’t approach either of these directly.
• Ongoing updates.
The league is monitoring the Covid-19 updates from within our region and will relay these and provide updates accordingly. If, however, you are made aware of a situation that has not been notified then please inform your Club Secretary and they will raise your concern with the League.
We are in unprecedented times and some individuals, and rightly so, are concerned more than others. The last thing that this league, or any other league, wants to do is to put individuals at risk. As confusing as the Governments action plan on the Covid-19 epidemic is, everyone is trying to work to a sensible and safe approach to continuing with life as safe as is possible and as such, following the guidelines and updates as indicated above – the league would hope that this would alleviate those concerns.
