Last month meetings
- Les opened the meeting. Apologies from committee: Tom and Clair. From floor: RCC. Apologised for no minutes online from last meeting
Anna: Single club issues will no longer be discussed at the main meeting. No cards, no play still our policy. Player recently suspended but committee had not been informed. CYFL and County to be notified. All referees and club linesman have to be at least 2 years older than teams involved. If you agree on a club referee beforehand, no comebacks. Registration forms starting to come in now. Send to Clair.
Malcolm: Ran an under 6 tournament with great success. Planning to run an under 10’s in similar fashion.
Leanne: Wants a venue update from clubs for prior intentions (ie cricket). Registrations on full time website.
Les: Many thanks to Leanne and Clair for their hard work and dedication in their first season.
Jay: Hoping to increase referees numbers throughout the summer.
Mick: Congrats to Brimsdown and Whitestar for an outstanding under 13’s cup final on Sunday. Interesting that 12’s, 13’s and14’s cup finals all won by traditional grassroots clubs. Urged all clubs to decide what shape the committee takes in the future ie volunteer committee looking after a 2/3 based business/ academy club system.
Les: No club will play in the league next season if they have a current debt. No exceptions. Fees frozen for next season. League accounts will show a shortfall this year, mainly due to 2 lots of bills for trophies coming out this year. Steve has been elected as AFA Vice President.
Steve: Appointment good news both for Steve and CYFL. Possible for Council to be dissolved but unlikely. Clubs clearly struggling financially within the league. Steve looking for support from other clubs (organising tournaments), County and FA.
Les AOB: Next meeting will be the AGM on 11th June. All rule changes must be with committee at least ONE week before AGM. Cheshunt FC holding an under 7’s tournament on Saturday 23rd June 9am start. League trophies handed out
