Danbury's 2012 heartache turns to 2013 joy as they are crowned League Winners.

Danbury Mission have won the 2012-13 Chelmsford and District Churches League.

Danbury finished their season in style with a 12-1 win over UCB Reserves on 20th April.

Danbury missed out to St Andrews in last seasons title race on goal difference, and after CGC's double header wins over UCB reserves the following week, it looked as though Danbury may well have had to settle for second best again by the same factor.

Needing this seasons rivals to slip up in either of their remaining two games, Billericay Baptist duly assisted Danbury's cause with a 2-1 win two weeks later.

Robert Goodwin's side had finished 3rd in 2010-11, 2nd in 2011-12, and were always hoping to go one better again to keep the continous improvement going, and the incredible effort put in by the Danbury players in the visit of CGC to Eve's Corner in a hard fought 1-1 draw proved to be a decisive point in the title race.

In a season which has seen the weather play its part more than ever, many teams have done tremendously well to keep their rhythm going and produce some fantastic results and entertaining football to be a part of.

If the 2013-14 season is half as exciting, it will be another good season.
