FA Futsal Fives Week 6

All the action from the sixth week of the FA Futsal Fives, including the hotly anticipated clash of UCP Marjon and Furio Roja

Match 1

Wasteman Elite - 3 Anidsh 2, Saiid 1
GFS – 11 James Gilbert 3, Mike Thompson 2, Rob Durgant 1, Chris Johnson 1, Kit Becinore 3, Tom Stanton 1
GFS take an early lead with a well taken finish bottom corner after a clever through ball. A well taken corner is slotted in front post 2-0. Through ball is clinically finished on the volley 3-0. Elite battle hard with a clever ball down the wing, converted to make it 3-1. GFS slick play and clever futsal allows them to pass round the opposition, followed by a chip over the GK 4-1. HT Impressive wing play allows a low cross to be converted top corner 5-1. Impressive skill and turn allows the ATT to sneak past two defenders, bottom corner 6-1. Winger cuts in from the wing before unleashing a powerful finish over the GK head 7-1. Direct from GK the ball is brought down neatly and finished with the GK fumbling into his own net 8-1 Elite continually battle hard and play some impressive futsal down the wing, ball played to edge of the area and is finished clinically 8-2. GFS go back up the other end and score two in quick goals 10-2.A powerful shot is fumbled by GFS’s GK tapped into make it 11-2. Elite score a great penalty top corner 11-3.

Match 2

Totem - 6 James Harbin 3, Pete Mccoy1, Will Broome, Steve Adison 1
Stampdoria – 4 Dave Smith 2, Adam Radomski 2
Stampdoria score a stunning opener with a outside of the foot finish top corner 0-1.Totem work hard and pounce on some sloppy Stampdoria defending 1-1. Stampdoria sneak a goal past the advancing GK 1-2. Stampdoria dominate the game and take a 3-1 lead with a impressive finish. Stampdoria produce some impressive futsal before finishing bottom corner 1-4. Totem battle hard and a decent corner is converted back post 2-4. HT Totem battle hard and score a well taken rebound 3-4. Totem continually pressure and score two goals in quick concession to get in the lead for the first time in the match. 5-4. Totem continue to press hard and score a back post finish from a cross. 6-4.

Match 3

Wrong Direction – 3 Josh Keith 1, Ben Frier 1, Ben Beer 1
Just Play – 9 Gary Naule 3, James Ghilyer 3, Stu Maller 2, Chris French 1
Play get a free kick outside of the area which is thumped in by the Just Play GK 0-1. Carbon copy Play get another free kick outside of the area which the GK is more than happy to make 0-2. Long ball by the GK causes havoc in the Directions area, GK fumbles tapped in by the eager ATT 0-4. Half volley finish from the corner top corner 0-4. Silky skills from the wing followed by a step over round the GK ensures a classy finish 0-5. Great futsal, one touch passing ensures another well taking goal for Just Play 0-6. Direction score a goal just before HT to keep in contention? 1-6 HT A well taken corner is finished near post 1-7. The GK scores a hat trick 1-8 . Wrong Direction don’t give up and score a great indivudal goal 2-8. Impressive finish from the wing 2-9. Wrong Direction keep pushing to get back in the game and score a excellent futsal goal, one touch with a decent finish 3-9.

Match 4

UCP Marjon – 5 Jonny Ellis 1, Josh Owen 3, Dan Smith 1
FC Furia Roja – 3 Toby Phillips 1, Reuben Romero 1, Sina Zand 1
In this clash of the Titans first played second, and it was a fiery encounter. Marjon make a great start with two well taken goals 2-0. UCP then spread the ball well and pick holes in the Roja defence with some imaginative Futsal 3-0. Neat play on the by line, produces a easy opportunity for Marjon to finish bottom corner 4-0. Roja realise they have their work cut out and step up to the plate. They play some easy on the eye futsal and pounce on some sloppy Marjon defending 4-1. Again Marjon are caught napping from the corner and concede a goal front post 4-2. H/T Roja score from a direct free kick and get booked for the celebration 4-3. Marjon dominate possession afterwards and score a great finish from the edge of the area after patient build up to finish the match 5-3.
