Mid-Essex Football League link up with County Motor Works

County Motor Works Link-Up With Mid Essex League: The 114-year-old Mid Essex League has a brand new backer for the 2011/12 season in the shape of County Motor Works following an official sponsorship launch in Chelmsford.The Vauxhall dealership are a well established local Chelmsford operation themselves, having been formed in 1907. Working alongside Vauxhall’s sponsorship of the Home Nations teams, County Motor Works feel that backing this prestigious and traditional league will offer a good link locally with the national campaign.

Jon Owen, General Sales Manager, met with Stuart Rose, Mid Essex League Chairman, at the Essex County FA’s headquarters to officially launch this deal and confirm the new name of the County Motor Works Vauxhall Mid Essex Football League. The competition has seven divisions and 84 teams who compete for both league and cup honours.

The season starts on 27th August when Silver End United play SFC Billericay in the Richard Galley Memorial Shield and Owen said: “We’re extremely pleased to be sponsoring the league and will welcome players, officials and their families to our showrooms in Springfield at any time where they will be given the utmost service and every help with their motoring needs.”

The full league programme commences on the following Saturday, 3rd September, and delighted Chairman Rose continued: “We are very happy that we’ve found a business that, like ourselves, is over a hundred years old and values the sport of football that we all love locally. We are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship
