Silver End United triumph in Premier League Cup Final

A penalty in the final minutes of extra time saw Silver End overcome a dogged Writtle Manor side in the Premier League Cup Final

Writtle Manor started the much stronger side a deservedly took the lead inside the first 20 minutes of the game.

However as the game went on Silver End grew in confidence and equalised just before half time

Both teams had chances but neither could convert and the game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes of play

Writtle Manor were already weakened by injuries to key players and with other players taking minor knocks during the game the younger legs of Silver End started to dominant the game.

Silver End were denied by some great saves by the Manor keeper but with penalties looming the Silver End player rounded the keeper and was fouled as he tried to put the ball into and empty net leaving the Referee to award a penalty

David Harrison for Silver End converted and there was no time for Manor to recover leaving Silver End to lift the trophy 2-1
