For the second season in a row, one Under 16 Girls team won all three competitions on offer!

Newcomers to the Cumbria Women’s Under 16 League Harraby Catholic Club JFC won the League Title, followed by Cumberland FA’s County Cup to scoop the double. The season finale League Cup Final saw Harraby Catholic Club JFC defeat last season’s triple winners Penrith AFC to claim all three trophies.

The Carlisle based team won the league 6 points clear of 2nd place Penrith AFC, with their only defeat coming in the first game of the season against Northbank Girls FC.

The Cumberland FA County Cup Final, held at Keswick FC at the County Cup Weekender was a close game against fellow league newcomers Barrow Celtic (U15) JFC who were playing in their 1st County Cup Final. Harraby Catholic Club made an appearance in the County Cup Final a few seasons ago at the younger age group.

The County Cup Final was scoreless at halftime with few chances for either side. The second half came to life with good chances for both teams, with the goalkeepers and woodwork keeping the score level. Harraby Catholic Club JFC scored the only goal of the game through Kyra Walton midway through the second half to keep the County Cup in Cumberland !

The final game of the season saw last season's Triple Winners, Penrith AFC line up against the League and County Cup Winners for the League Cup Final at the Sheepmount on the last day of May 2015.

Another close game was decided by one goal, this time Megan Bendle scoring the decisive goal to make the Carlisle based team's debut season in the Under 16 division one to remember!

David Lawson, Harraby Catholic Club JFC’s manager commented “We couldn’t have dreamt how well the season would go this year!”

Cumbria Women’s League would like to congratulate Harraby Catholic Club JFC on their success this season! All teams in the league work hard throughout the year to fulfill fixtures; overcoming issues such as the weather and towards the end of the season exam pressure on players. Cumbria Women’s League would like to thank all teams and volunteers who have helped make the Under 16 League a success this season!

Season 2015/16 should see the league grow, with 9 entries received in preparation for the AGM at the end of June. 2014/15 participants Barrow Celtic JFC, Harraby Catholic Club JFC, Carlisle City JFC and Penrith AFC could be joined by new teams from Abbeytown JFC, Barrow Celtic JFC, Carlisle City JFC and Stanwix JFC.
