Whitehaven Ladies FC were formed in 2006 and entered the Lancashire League Division 2 in season 2007/08 finishing a very respectable 5th in their first season.

Season 2008/09 the club finished 3rd and were offered promotion to Division 1. However, the club declined and entered the Cumbria Women's League.

Home matches are played at The County Ground (now known as The Focus Scaffolding Sports Complex).

This season the club have once again entered The FA Women's Cup and it was in this competition that they achieved their highest attendance to date, 152 in the 1st preliminary round v Bury Ladies.
