APH win I Zingari Challenge Cup to complete the double

APH won the I Zingari Challenge Cup Final with a 4-2 victory in the dreaded penalty shoot out over Waterloo Dock.

This was an entertaining game, in front of a good crowd of 200+, and was a closely contested encounter throughout. The early exchanges where dominated by Waterloo Dock, who then found themselves going 1-0 behind when John Driscoll scored for APH. In the 35th minute Waterloo Dock drew level with Alex Stannick striking from close range.

The second half produced no goals, but that wasn't for the lack of efforts on goal. APH striking the frame of the goal twice and Waterloo Dock also missing the target narrowly on several occassions.

In the 3rd minute of the first period of extra time John Driscoll scored his and Aigburths second to put them ahead 2-1. With typical detemination the Dock fought back equalised 7 minutes later with a stike from Liam Huson.

With no further goals in extra time the dreaded penalty shoot out saw Aigburth triumph 4-2 to lift the I Zingari Challenge Cup meaning they completed the Premier Division League and Cup Double.

The games was a credit to both teams and a great advert for the League
