With the rain disrupting the fixture programme, Heywood Irish Centre moved up to second in division 1 with a 9-1 win over bottom club Shelley.

With the rain disrupting the fixture programme, Heywood Irish Centre moved up to second in division 1 with a 9-1 win over bottom club Shelley. Heywood’s goals came from Nathan Eastwood (three), Kieron Mayall (two), Liam Holmes, Matthew Colcombe and Stephen Greer (two) with Darryl Senior scoring for Shelley.
In division 2, second placed Netherton put a big dent in Kirkheaton Rovers promotion hopes with goals from Ryan Burchael and Alex Vickerman (two) in a 3-0 win. Lepton Highlanders travelled to Cumberworth and came away with the points in a 2-1 win with goals from Ryan Crossley and James Keenan. Carl Auckland scored the consolation for Cumberworth. AFC Lindley stay in third place beating Kirkburton 2-0 with goals from Jonny Crowther and Oliver Dunne. Craig Thompson (three), Sam Hirst, Ryan Walton and Lee Turner scored for Dalton Dynamos as they stay on course for the division 2 championship in a 6-0 win over Almondbury Woolpack.
In division 3 leaders Deighton did not have a game so still need a point to win the division whilst Scissett beat bottom club AFC Dalton 3-0 with goals from Chris Martin, Chris Palk and Ryan Trafford. Ethan Flynn (two), Cameron Wilkey, Austin McEwen and Stephen Chandler scored for Grange Moor Saints as they beat Meltham Athletic 5-2. Liam Carmody and Nick Whiteley scored for Meltham.
Saddleworth United regained top spot in division 4 following goals from Oliver Harris, Nathan Boote (two) and Josh Bradbury in a 4-2 win over Flockton, Kieron Mulvey scoring both goals for Flockton. Holmfirth Town remain in bottom place following a 3-1 defeat at home to Brighouse Athletic, whose goals were scored by Lachlan McMurdo (two) and Benjamin Whiteley. Jermaine Edwards, Nathan Doran (two), Daniel Colbeck, Alex Roberts (three), Edward Hinchliffe and Josh Rowbottom all scored for Honley in their high scoring 9-3 win over Mount. Jay Wells (two) and Tevin Watson scoring for Mount. In the shock result of the day promotion hopefuls AFC Volunteers travelled to East Ardsley and were well beaten 6-2 by Thorpe Giants. The Giants goal scorers were Liam Harker (three), Oliver Hughes (two) and Steve Ely.
In the reserve section Newsome stay on course for the division 1 championship with a hard fought 3-2 win over Netherton with goals from Adam Hill (two) and Dean Wharam. Jacob Mortimor scored both goals for Netherton. Deighton move up to third following goals from Jamal Hussain, Hayden Webster, Coron Rowe, Romell Simpson and Dominic McDonald-Webster in a 5-1 win over Dalton Dynamos.
In division 2 Scholes A beat bottom club Holme Valley Academicals 5-0 and Scissett beat second bottom club Almondbury Woolpack 9-0.
Slaithwaite United are 4 points clear at the top of division 3 after a 14-2 win over Grange Moor Saints. Slowit’s goals came from Josh Moore (four), Bradley Howe (three), Ashley Beardsall, Sam Moore (two), James North (two) and Dominik Moorhouse (two). Cameron Mays and Jacob Bentley scoring for the Saints. Michael Lord (two) and Mark Johnson scored for Linthwaite Athletic A as they beat bottom side Wooldale Wanderers 3-2. Daniel Smith and Jack Sykes scored for Wooldale. Cumberworth A moved up to third with a hard fought 3-2 win away at Mount. Mount’s goals were scored by Sam Dawson and Joe Tuff and Cumberworth’s goals were scored by Taylor Hartley (two) and Kevin Hey.
It is a four-horse race for promotion in division 4 with 3 points between the top 4 teams and not many games in hand. Kirkheaton Rovers are fourth following a narrow 3-2 win away at Brook Motors Development with goals from Callum Chima (two) and Steven Mitchell with Richard Hayton and Josh Armitage scoring for Brooks. An Andrew Daisey hattrick was the highlight of the game as Hade Edge A beat Cumberworth B 4-1 with Jack Buxton scoring the fourth. Paul Wells scored a consolation for Cumberworth. West End Park Development remain bottom despite goals from Paul Lawson, Nathan Williams and Lyndon Wells in a 5-3 loss to Fothergill and Whittles A who move up to third. Scott Sykes (three), Alex Hepworth, Elliott George, Harrison English, Jon Lockwood and Jacob Brown scored for Shepley who go second in an 8-3 win over Scissett Development.
