In the West Riding County Cup competition there were a mixed bag of results with the pick of the games being Berry Brow versus Harrogate Railway Athletic Reserves.

Newsome missed out on regaining top spot in division 1 drawing 3-3 away at bottom club Shepley with goals from Deon Simmonds (two) and Neil Robshaw. Skelmanthorpe won away at improving AFC Lindley 3-2 with goals from Daniel Simpson, Daniel Morgan and Jack Hepworth with Luke Bedford and Josh Wrigley scoring for the hosts.

In division 2 Lepton Highlanders remain bottom losing 8-0 at home to Scissett. Will Rowland (two) and Samuel Bagshaw scored as Diggle won 3-1 at Cumberworth with Jake Surry scoring the consolation for Cumberworth. Phil Rigby scored for Brook Motors in their 3-1 defeat at home to Kirkburton whose goals were scored by George Somerville, Ben Robinson and Luke Walker. Deighton stretched their lead at the top of division in a 3-3 draw at Almondbury Woolpack with goals from Dareece Siddique (two) and Stefan John. Chris Melotte, Daniel Bradley and Courtney Allert scored for the Woolpack.

Meltham Athletic went 6 points clear at the top of division 3 with goals from James Knowles, Jake Wood, Jack Thackeray and Nathan Moore in a 4-2 win over AFC Volunteers. Bottom club Mount enjoyed their first win of the season with goals from Ben Harris, Joe Tuft, Michael Byrne, George Fox, Joe Lockwood and Scott Kenworthy (two) beating Holmfirth Town 7-1. Shaun Roscoe (two), Ryan Hughes and Oliver Harris scored as Saddleworth United claimed second place with a 4-0 win at Wooldale Wanderers. Hade Edge claimed the points in a high scoring 10-5 win at Fenton United with goals from Alex Trowell, Scott Roberts (two), Jonathan Hepworth and hattricks from Lewis Barden and Jake Clayton.

AFC Lindley remain bottom of Reserve Division 1 following their 5-0 defeat away at Heywood Irish Centre whose goals were scored by Tom Elvidge, Carlton Balmer (two), Jamie Temple and Christiano Eduardo. Neighbours Newsome and Berry Brow played out a 1-1 draw with Carl David scoring for Newsome and Dean Siddiq scoring for the Brow. Jamal Hussain scored four as Deighton beat Kirkburton 7-3 with Dominic McDonald-Webster (two) and Leevan Brown completing the scoring for Deighton.

Holmbridge went top of reserve division 2 with an emphatic 7-0 win away at Grange Moor Saints with goals from Sam Carr (two), Isaac Oldroyd, Gary Parr, Jamie Walker, Bailey Bedford and Simon Walsh. Isaac Firth scored for Holme Valley Academicals as they drew 1-1 with Slaithwaite United. Joshua Roberts scoring for Slowit. Luke McLoughlin, Hamza Tayeb and Stephen Njenga scored as Berry Brow A beat Scissett 3-0. Skelmanthorpe moved up to fourth with goals from John Mosby, Dan Wainwright (two) and Richard Alderson in a 4-2 win at Meltham Athletic. Jonny Morgan and Lewis Polat scoring for Meltham. Joe McAreavey (two) and Tom Lister scored for Cumberworth A in their 3-3 draw at home to Netherton A whose goals were scored by Matthew Harmer, Matthew Abbott and Alipayman Ramazani.

Kirkheaton Rovers top reserve division 3 on goal difference following goals from Lewis Crank (three), Callum Chima and Steve Mitchell in their 6-1 win at Wooldale Wanderers with Jake Marshall scoring for Wooldale. Niall Plunkett-Agrela and Tyler Pickersgill scored as Fothergill and Whittles Thirds go second by beating Almondbury Woolpack 2-1 with Ethan Dennis scoring for Woolpack. Diggle drew with Berry Brow B 1-1 with Bradley Ward scoring for Diggle and Benjamin Lodge scoring for the Brow. Eddie Dalton and Andrew Daisey (two) scored as Hade Edge Development beat Honley 3-2 with Jermaine Edwards and Ben Dewhirst scoring for Honley. Brook Motors Development won an entertaining game against Mount 5-4 with goals from Josh Armitage (three), Richard Denton and Gabriel McNae with David Catherall, Kevin Lockwood and Paul drake (two) scoring for Mount.

Harrogate Railway Athletic Reserves are currently the West Yorkshire Association League Division 1 leaders. Despite having previously knocked out Huddersfield Laund Hill first team in an earlier round they were no match on the day for Berry Brow. Goals from Liam Dobson, Wayne Shooter, Kyle Walton and second half hattrick from substitute Lawal Lawal saw the Brow comfortably through to the next round in a 6-1 win.

Jake Waterson scored twice as Britannia Sports beat Horbury Town from the West Yorkshire Association League Division 2, 2-1. Netherton reserves made the long trek up to Keighley to take on Craven and District League side Sutton FC. After a difficult first half when they conceded three, Ellis Pejica, Arran Leigh and Ben Balmforth scored to send the tie to penalties. However, Netherton’s luck ran out and sadly they lost 4-3. Adam Lightowler hit five, as Netherton’s first team hammered Leeds City from the Yorkshire Amateur League 9-2 with Alex Vickerman (two), Ryan Burchael, and Joel Rushworth completing the scoring.

Littletown from the Yorkshire Amateur League Supreme Division easily beat Heywood Irish Centre 7-1 and Dalton Dynamos lost 5-2 to Tadcaster Magnets from the York Minster League Premier Division. Marsden lost 3-1 to Bingley Town from the Craven and District League and Birstall Rovers from the Yorkshire Amateur League beat Linthwaite Athletic A, 5-2. Brighouse Athletic had an excellent 5-1 win over TCC from the Halifax and District League and Linthwaite Athletic Reserves travelled to Aberford Albion from the West Yorkshire Association league and won 4-1. Honley lost at home to Leeds Modernians from the Yorkshire Amateur League 5-3 and Britannia Sports Reserves were heavily beaten 9-0 by William Street FC from the Wakefield and District League.

Huddersfield Laund Hill beat York Minster League side Thorpe United 3-0, and Gavin Armitage (two) and Robert Holroyd scored as Kirkheaton Rovers beat Leeds City Thirds 3-0. Dalton Dynamos Reserves were drawn away against Dalton Dynamos A and goals from Connor Steele (two), Cav Joyce and Aiden Jackson saw them through to the next round winning 4-0.

In the Barlow Cup Ben Boulton, Adam Bower, Daniel Middleton and Tom Dyson scored as Slaithwaite United beat Holmbridge 4-1 with Jordan Saville scoring for Holmbridge.
