District League Report December 4th Once again the weather decimated the fixture programme and very few games were played. In division 2 Netherton made good use of their sloping pitch to beat Lepton Highlanders 7-1.

In division 2 Netherton made good use of their sloping pitch to beat Lepton Highlanders 7-1.
Netherton’s scorers were Nathan Chappell, Joel Harrison, Alex Vickerman and Ryan Burchael with four whilst Danny Conway scored the consolation for the Highlanders. The win moved Netherton up to second in the table whilst Lepton dropped down to fifth.
Brighouse Athletic travelled to Thorpe Giants and came away with the points in a 2-1 win. Steve Ely scored for the Giants and Benjamin Whiteley and George Gray scored for Brighouse.
In the reserve section, division 4 Honley Reserves moved off the bottom of the table with their first win of the season beating Scissett Development 6-1. Chris Johnson scored the only goal for Scissett whilst Tim Marsh (two), Ryan Ralph, Terry Murphy, Ben Dewhirst and Richard Greenwood scored for Honley. Goals from John Paul Flynn, Ryan Walton and Will McLaughlin helped Dalton Dynamos A stay top of the division after playing out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Fothergill & Whittles A. Matthew Fallon (two) and Kieran Salmon scored for Fothergill & Whittles.
The postponed West Riding FA Challenge Trophy tie between unbeaten division 4 leaders AFC Volunteers and Fairbank United has been rearranged for Saturday December 11th.
Linthwaite Athletic whose game against Harrogate Railway Athletic Reserves in the West Riding FA Challenge Cup was also postponed but a new date has yet to be set.
At the December League meeting there had been reports of poor behaviour by players and officials of a small number of clubs. Naturally this is always disappointing to hear but the League and the County Football Association will deal with it.
All Clubs will be reminded of the Code of Conduct that applies to all their players and officials. The code of conduct also covers the consumption of alcohol, the use of drugs, social media and bad conduct likely to bring the league in to dispute.
