District League Report December 16th

In the Huddersfield and District FA Challenge Cup Deighton knocked out Golcar United Reserves from the Yorkshire Amateur League Premier Division, winning 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Lepton Highlanders First team from the Yorkshire Amateur League Supreme Division just squeezed past Honley with a 3-2 win. Scorers for Honley were Morgan Connor and Matthew Stor. Linthwaite Athletic overwhelmed Heywood Irish Centre winning 8-0 and Doran Jordan hit a hattrick as Newsome beat Shepley 6-0. Huddersfield Laund Hill had an excellent 3-1 win at Holmbridge with goals from Jordan Jaber, Joe Fitzpatrick and Zach Nash with Rob Parr scoring for the Bridge. Slaithwaite United hammered Skelmanthorpe 8-2 with Ben Boulton scoring four. Ashley Beardsall hit three and Dominick Moorhouse completed the scoring for Slowit. Lewis Haigh and Harrison Watson scoring for Shat. Moorside won the Saddleworth Derby beating Diggle 3-0 with goals from Kieran Thomasson, Joe Fagan and Jason Evans.

Morgan Taylor and Mark Johnson (two) scored as Linthwaite Athletic A knocked Skelmanthorpe A out of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Trophy 3-2 with Mark Booth and Frankie Smith scoring for Shat. Netherton Reserves knocked Berry Brow A out winning 3-1 with goals from Steven Hoyle, Ellis Pejica and Ryan Lenihan with Yunus Abdulmumini scoring for Brow. Kirkheaton Reserves beat Deighton A 3-1 with goals from Waqhar Uddin (two) and Lewis Ryan with Mario Richards scoring for Deighton.

Netherton moved up to fourth in the Premier Division with a 6-3 win over bottom club Britannia Sports with goals from Ryan Burchael (two), Nathan Chappell, Joel Denton and Alex Vickerman (two). Chris Fowler (two) and Ryan Lach scored for Britannia. Nathan Goddard and Ben Hallitt scored as Kirkheaton Rovers beat AFC Lindley 3-1 with Chris Creighton scoring for Lindley.

In Division 1 Almondbury Woolpack moved out of the relegation zone beating Holme Valley Academicals 5-3 with goals from Daniel Bradley, Ethan Denniss, James Acquah and Courtney Allert (two). Dyson Boocock, Owen Sutton and Alex Bence scoring for the Accies. Saddleworth United’s game versus Kirkburton was abandoned late in the second half due to a serious injury to a Kirkburton player. The League’s best wishes go to the player for a full and quick recovery.

Berry Brow Reserves stay second in Division 2 following their 3-2 win over Linthwaite Athletic Reserves with goals from Courtney Allette, Richard Oakley and Dean Siddiq with a brace from Chris Blakely for Linfit. Dalton Hotel Reserves beat Brighouse Athletic 3-2 and Meltham Athletic beat Wooldale Wanderers 4-0. Meltham’s goals were scored by Jack Ellis-Pownall, Luke Henighan, Matt Henighan and Rob Bailey.

In Division 3 Skelmanthorpe Reserves are up to second following their 7-1 win over Meltham Athletic Reserves. Adam Parr scored twice as Britannia Sports Reserves beat Mount 2-0. Slaithwaite United Reserves are up to third beating Holmfirth Town 4-1 with goals from Ryan Patterson (two), Isaac Brown and Ethan Roberts with James Beeby scoring for Holmfirth.

Grange Moor Saints Reserves are up to third in Division 4 after their 3-3 draw with Diggle Reserves with goals from Gian-Mario Busia, Connor Steele and Jordan Wells. Bradley Ward hit all three for Diggle. Scissett Reserves beat bottom side Holme Valley Academicals 3-1 with Matthew Webster scoring the consolation for the Accies. Cumberworth Reserves are up to second following their 4-1 win at Wooldale Wanderers Reserves.

Allerton moved up to fourth in Division 5 following their 4-1 win at Almondbury Woolpack Reserves with goals from Umais Khan, Sahil Mahmood and Mohammed Ibrahim (two) with Bradley Ramsden scoring for the Woolpack. Adam Whitehead hit both as Cumberworth A beat Britannia Sports A 2-0. Honley Reserves beat neighbours Brook Motors 4-1 with goals from Terry Murphy, Tom Booth, Mick Roebuck and Vaughan Hirst. Matthew Chiappori (two) and Dylan Tunstall scored for Hade Edge Development in their 3-2 win over Mount Reserves. Reece Moore scoring twice for Mount.
