League action...

Dun Cow moved into second in the Premier Division with a comfortable 4-0 win over Billet. John Vooght, Ian Thorne, Adam Furness and Dave Kiddie netting.

A clever header from Leslie Chappell put Broadhall on their way against St Nicholas before the break. Ryan Chilcott also headed home in the second-half with a looping effort which sailed in.

Division One leaders MBDA rung the chances for their trip to Breachwood Lions. The home side were also a patched up unit and started in a positive spirit. Adam Jefferies almost put Lions in front when he curled a lovely free-kick, which was destined for the top corner, only for 40-year-old ‘keeper Andy Gibb to turn the ball round the post at the last moment. Goalless at the break, the leaders showed some quality after it with the introduction of top scorer Ashley Kersey. However, it was Lions who came close again when a long range shot hit the bar. The deadlock was broken when a Kyle Watson shot squirmed under the Lions ‘keeper George Harrison, older than Gibb at 43. George Lawson made it two when his shot on target into a crowded box went in via a flick off the head of both Graham French and Iaian Turkentine. Lions’ bar was then rattled by Kersey from twenty yards, Harrison saved the follow-up from Watson, who scored with the rebound. Harrison then pushed another shot over the bar. In the last ten minutes MBDA scored twice more, Kersey heading in under the bar from a Watson corner and then a sweetly struck shot from Watson across the ‘keeper completed his hat-trick and a 5-0 victory.

Lifestyles are second after winning a cracking game. Chequers took the lead twenty minutes in through a neat turn and finish by Carl Thompson, but they were soon 2-1 down before Thompson forced an own goal just before the break. Lifestyles led again, but a stunning twenty-five yard volley from Steve Teale brought Chequers level again. Lifestyles pulled away to sew up a 5-3 victory thanks to a Stewart Smith hat-trick, one from brother Carl Smith and a Ryan Ellis goal.

MKS Carpentry did their best to help their opponents score with several edgy back-passes, one of these from Trev Hoyte saw Bedwell Rangers capitalise after twenty-five minutes. MKS’ luck was out when their own players also kept out two goal bound headers from Olly Rice. They were on top after the break and had several chances, then allowed a player to run forty yards and pick out a team-mate for 2-0 through James Sawyer’s legs. Ade Barry put Neil Roskilly clean through but his shot from six yards cannoned off the post. Rich Wilson then put in a great through-ball for Barry to slot home. Unfortunately, they got nothing and Rangers added a third when Lee Metselaar inadvertently set them up. Luke Smith (two) and Andrew Russell were on target.

Wayne Hall and Christian Goodyear netted as Coopers United drew 2-2 with Coach and Horses, for whom Lewis Littlechild netted both.

Division Two leaders Pin Green lost their 100 percent record as Trevor Brown scored a cracking goal to earn Crooked Billet Boro a 1-1 draw. Karl Shaw netted for the leaders.

Roebuck Gate took a lead in the first five minutes when Lewis Kirkby took advantage of a defensive lapse. Broadhall Icon were soon level when some flowing football paid off when, after Danny Wilshire’s shot was well saved, Dan Gregory followed up to smash home. Michael Bunker's corner then found Wilshere’s head for an Icon lead. Chris Bunker soon made it three after the influential Ricky Phillips took on a few players and sent Michael Bunker clear, who crossed for his brother to score. Gregory sewed it up at 4-1 from the penalty spot after Ross Taylor handled in the box and they now sit second.

Emperors Head struck first after twenty minutes through Dave Hannaway when the defence failed to clear the ball. The lead was doubled ten minutes later after another poor defensive show and Daniel Healy capitalized. The second-half was a much more spirited display from Old Barclavians and early dominance from resulted in them pulling one back as Callum Rowe and Lee Falanga combined for Rowe to chip past the advancing ‘keeper from the edge of the box. They continued to move the ball about and stretch their opponents and Josh Watson was on the mark from close range to bring the game level with twenty minutes left to earn a 2-2 draw. Nick Wellings and Falanga both went close late on to turning the game around.

Another 2-2 draw saw James Marsden and Matt Roworth net for JML Plumbing & Heating Athletic. Whilst the Hartham Press reply came from Jamie Burbury and Paul Hewson as the bottom side still look for their first win.

Broadhall Athletic cemented their place at the top of the Division Three table with a 7-1 hammering of ABC Taxis. In a breathtaking first-half of top quality, Gary Hillard helped himself to a hat-trick and Craig Gilbert took a brace with ABC pulling a goal back through an Adam Payne penalty. The second-half saw ABC press hard, but lacklustre finishing and a solid defensive show ensured no comeback. Indeed, the mercurial Hillard took his tally to five with a couple more. Great credit to ABC for their attitude.

Brackas moved into fourth with a tight win over a dogged Stevenage Old Town, who are looking for their first point. They started well with good possession and created a few chances, but nothing to make the home keeper work. The only goal came on the half-hour when Ryan Treavish’s shot was tipped over the bar, but he netted with a wonder goal from the resulting corner. Old Town hit Rich Edwards’ crossbar twice, he got fingers on the second.
