Three Parts of Cow v Nirankari To Come...

Two rivals will meet three times in the coming weeks, writes Darren “Statto” Jones (statto@cssfl.info).

Dun Cow hammered nine past MKS Carpentry in the CSSFL Challenge Cup. Adam Furness (hat-trick), Jim Bywater (two), Glen Lamacraft (two), Shaun Marshall and Ian Thorne on the mark. Mick Sandford scored the reply.

FC Nirankari were 3-0 winners over Broadhall. Ross Connolly continued his good goal scoring form with one, David Iweduino and Theo Swaine grabbed the others.

The clubs will now meet for a place in the final, they also meet in the Premier Division Cup Final and a league game, where Nirankari will need the points if they’re to pursue the runners-up spot behind them.

Dean Chadderton and Reece Munford each hit a brace as Pear Tree made the Division Two Cup final. Andy Davison scored the other, whilst Mark Chalkley and Emeka John responded for Broadhall Athletic in their 5-2 defeat.

Rileys Athletic made it to the final with a 5-1 win over Emperors Head. Lewis Osborne (two), Callum Russell, Tom Rhydheard and Ben Warman took them there, Ashley Sealy’s goal was mere consolation.

Division One champions Marquis of Lorne concluded their season with a 4-1 victory over FC Mallard. Ryan Arbon, Jamie Campany, Shaun Grainger and Frazer Triggs netted, Rob Barton scored the consolation.

Chequers need a point against Rileys in their final game to take the Division Two title. Against their rivals for the title, Nirankari Timebridge, they settled into their stride after a nervy start. Alan Collins spread a long pass to Ollie Barnett, who calmly lobbed the ‘keeper after 15 minutes. Timebridge came back into the game, but good defending kept them to a couple of half chances. Chequers also created some good opportunities but didn’t net the decisive goal until the last 15 minutes when Steve Koop pounced to guide the ball into the corner of the net to make it 2-0.

Old Barclavians continued their excellent form with a 5-1 win over Granby in Division Three. Nick Wellings (two), James French, Joe Marshall-Zeal and Josh Watson did the damage. Tony Bailey replied. They can still mathematically make it into the runners-up spot, despite their heavy points deduction.

In the Frank Neville Memorial Cup, James Khakpour-Smith and Dave Mower saw Hartham Press through by the skin of their teeth as Josh Stock added to Proverbial United’s goal advantage in the last minute to make it 2-2 overall. Hartham meet View Point Wanderers in the semi-final this Sunday.

St Nicholas were awarded the points as Roebuck Gate failed to raise a side and also go through and will play Pear Tree in the last four.

ABC Taxis added Lewis McClean and Rob Neave goals to the two before kick-off to win 4-2 overall against AJS Tyres Broadhall. Michael Carter and Liam Castle replied.

Bedwell Rangers took the points in an academic game as Dean Bacon and Luke Smith were on target against Arena-Group, for them Russell Cox and Marc Holmes netted. Bedwell won 3-2 with the goal handicap.
