Divisions 2 and 3...

A Jahrome Mullings hat-trick saw Pin Green on their way to a 4-2 victory over Roebuck Gate in Division Two as they stayed 100 percent from four games. Ean Browne netted the other, whilst Ricky Kyle and Shaun Skutela replied.

Another solid defensive effort saw Emperors Head claim a hard fought win. They got off to a flying start when the smallest player on the pitch, Wayne Richards leapt to head in a fine Lewis Essam cross. Despite dominating possession for the rest of the first-half, they could not add a second thanks largely to numerous fine saves from the goalkeeper. They finally added a deserved second when Dave Hannaway scored a tap-in from a long throw-in. There was still time for Joe Whittaker to miss an open goal before Hartham Press scored a late consolation through the reliable Jamie Burbury.

Lewis Osborne netted a hat-trick as JML Plumbing & Heating Athletic made it two-wins-from-three. Tony Webb scored the other in the 4-2 win. Crooked Billet Boro’s scorers were Collins Nwanazia and Brian Bailey.

Old Barclavians dominated the game throughout, passing neatly and creating chances a plenty. It was Broadhall Icon, however, who took a surprising lead as they worked a free-kick across the face of the goal to be tapped in by Dan Gregory. Old B’s stepped up a gear and equalised as Lee Falanga slotted home a penalty-kick, Icon were then reduced to ten men due to a professional foul and this spelt the end of their challenge. Ryan Hoenes scored his first goal for the club to make it 2-1 and Pat Owen added another. The inevitable fourth followed on the hour when a corner was headed back across goal and Falanga volleyed home. Jon Wilson’s penalty pulled one back before Callum Rowe scored the goal of the game when he wriggled through three players before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net for 5-2.

Proverbial United are top of the pile in Division Three after Dave Pateman and Kevin Ward netted in their 2-1 win over TC Wanderers. Luke Brackenbury was on the mark with the consolation.

Almond Tree La Coruna grabbed their first points since formation. A very even first-half ended 1-1 with Dave Thomas finding the net for the Tree with a good finish from a Stephen Clibbon pull back. ABC Taxis’ goal came from Adam Payne and they could’ve led before half-time with a long range effort, but for Scott Taylor tipping the ball onto the bar. Tree controlled it after the break and a neat one-two between Thomas and Jaiden Irish on the edge of the box saw the latter slot the ball home. Great hold up play from Thomas then saw him lay the ball off to Bill Flavell, who turned nicely and curled a beauty from twenty-five yards into the top corner. A late sloppy goal from Payne made it 3-2 as Tree almost let it slip.

After an even start, Stevenage Old Town went in front through Paul Smith. A superb pass from Ryan Treavish beautifully found Theo Griffith, whose head levelled the scores for Brackers. Treavish preserved the point when he hacked the ball off the line before it got even better when Tom Robbins’ corner sweetly found Max Robson’s head to make it 2-1 to Brackers and leave SOT pointless from three games.

Two sides stayed unbeaten in a six-goal thriller. Despite being on the back foot, View Point Wanderers went in front on the half-hour mark when Mr Reliable from the spot, Mike Coombes, converted after Andy Davidson was hauled down. Broadhall Athletic responded, also from the spot. A Scott Taylor long throw-in after the break caused panic and Gaz Baker fired home from close range for 2-1 to VPW, however Broadhall had a purple back and netted twice to lead. Mark Chalkley, Ricky Reynolds and Garry Smith goals had hoped to give them the points. However, with time running out, View Point gambled players forward and this paid off when Allan Johnston controlled the ball on his chest on the edge of the box and his volley snuck into the far corner.
