Top flight down to 4...

Billet FC have joined previously folded TC United FC, Marquis of Lorne FC, Real Stevenage CF and St Nicholas FC in withdrawing from the Premier Division. We also lost Pin Green FC from Division Two.

As a result of the first 3 folding, there have been two CSSFL Management Committee Statements...

Sunday 4th November 2012:-

"In light of the recent withdrawal of two more Premier Division Clubs, leaving it with just six, the Management Committee have sought advice in extending the season to a sensible duration. Having got the all clear from the Herts FA, it was put to a vote to the Premier Division Secretaries for the Clubs to play each other three times, instead of two, during the 2012/13 season. With a majority coming back in favour, it was carried."

Monday 5th November 2012:-

In relation to the following:-
"Rule 8(N): QUALIFICATION OF PLAYERS: A Player who has played for a team in the higher division three times or more shall not in that season be eligible to play in a lower Division except by permission of the Management Committee."

In light of the recent withdrawal of two more Premier Division sides, leaving it with just six, the Management Committee can clearly see that the players from these clubs would find it hard to find spaces in one of the remaining Clubs. Therefore, in conjunction with what the Rule allows, the Management Committee have made a general decision, which should avoid any contentious issues and will allow these players to continue playing in the CSSFL: Any Club is permitted to sign a maximum of two players in total from folded Clubs during the 2012/13 season, providing the player has cleared any debts owed".
