Renz Routed... We lost our second side in county cup this season, writes Darren “Statto” Jones (statto@cssfl.info, www.cssfl.info).

Herts Intermediate Cup:
Renz Rangers’ county cup debut came crashing down with a bump after a 9-0 defeat at Leather Bottle in the first round.

Premier Division:
With MBDA missing their first three choice centre-backs, Nirankari put them to the sword with a 7-0 hammering. Scott Orphanou, Ryan Smales and Danny Payne each netted a brace, whilst Andrew Iwediuno grabbed the other.

Breachwood Lions made it three wins on the trot as they edged Broadhall 4-3. After two on his debut a week earlier, Matt Kenneford hit a hat-trick, whilst Danny Jefferies grabbed the other. Broadhall replied through Ross Gormer, Jordan Davies and another well-placed Jay Milburn free-kick.

John Vooght (2), Ian Thorne, Dan Manning and an own goal saw Dun Cow beat Stevenage Outsiders (Jamie Steele) 5-1.

Carl Lingwood grabbed the only goal of the game as Lifestyles beat Bedwell Rangers.

Division One:
Leaders with a 100 percent record are MKS Carpentry. Phil Parker (2), Josh Dance and Corey Cooper netting in the 4-0 win over Marquis of Lorne South.

Both Broadhall sides are staking a claim to join their senior side in the top flight after winning again. AJS Tyres Broadhall got the better of JML Plumbing & Heating in a pulsating game, punctuated with some superb goals for both sides. JML took the lead after 8 minutes with their first chance. This lasted just three minutes as Rob Stevenson latched on to a loose ball on the edge of the box to fire home a brilliantly controlled volley. AJS got on top and it was Stevenson who scored again by smashing in a 20 yard free kick into the top corner. Three minutes later, Andy Lee scored their third with another thumping cross shot. The first-half scoring was completed just before the half-hour as JML pulled one back for 3-2. A purple patch saw AJS net three times in as many minutes just after the hour. A good move was finished by Warren Ratcliffe's though ball to Rob Stevenson, who completed his hat-trick, Lee turned provider with a terrific run and cross to Liam Castle, who finished well, then Lee's pass set up Dean Allen for his first goal for AJS and a 6-2 lead. JML fought back to 6-4, Matt Roworth, Dan Russell, Myles Marshall and Chris Hinch on the mark for them.

Broadhall Athletic edged out Old Barclavians 3-2. Hadley Grazette, Alex Elmes and Steve Schumann on target for Broadhall. Dale Chester and Brendon Nwayebvu replied.

AP Construction won an incredible game 8-4 against Coopers United (Dave Brown, Dan Corns, Chris Chalat and George Collins). On target for APC were Danny Hillard (3), Frazer Triggs (2), Tom Younger (2) and Dan Reid.

Division Two:
Almond Tree are top despite dropping their first points of the season. It was going to take a spirited performance to end their winning start and Kingdom Athletic produced just that. The first-half was a stalemate with no worthwhile chances, only Danny Bowey’s snap shot which flew just wide for Tree. Kingdom began the brighter after the break and almost went in front when a driven shot from Sam Jamieson hit the post. They did take the lead after a Dan Harris through-ball sent Kieran Ellis away and he lobbed the approaching ‘keeper Scott Taylor. Tree equalised soon after when, after they produced a few moments of ‘keep-ball’, Bowey found himself on the edge of the box to fire into the bottom corner. Both teams had chances to win it, Kingdom coming close when Ryan Woolhead’s cross-cum-shot went just past the post. 1-1 was a fair result, and both teams commended by the Referee, the League’s Referee Secretary Dave Bailey, for the spirit the game was played in.

Bank maintained their 100 percent record with a convincing win over LeisureLeagues.com. Tony Phelan's composed finish got things started for the home side and Dan Welch doubled their advantage before the break when he found the bottom corner. They didn't let up in the second-half and Adam Payne slotted home for number three. Terry Lock completed a 5-0 rout, smashing home two more goals.

2Dry are into third after Steve Ryan, Christian Goodyear, James Marshall and Collins Nwanazia were on target against A1 Trophies, for whom Tallem Dennis scored a brace in the 4-2 score line.

Louis Gilbert put Benington in front before Theo Griffith hit a rocket of a free-kick from just outside the box in the bottom corner to bring Brackas level. Ben Gumble then scored from distance to turn the game around before Benington levelled through Lawrence Salmon. Brackas won it 4-2 when, firstly, Tom Robbins had a simple tap-in following a goal-line scramble and Max Robson sealed the game a few minutes from the end when he smashed the ball home from close range.
