The loveable "Greeno and Bobby" with the Premier Division Cup...

Nirankari Scoop Second Cup Win...

...Olympic Nirankari won their second cup final in the space of five days, writes Darren “Statto” Jones (statto@cssfl.info, www.cssfl.info).

Premier Division Cup:
After success at Stevenage FC on Sunday in the CSSFL Challenge Cup, Olympic Nirankari made it a cup double with a comfortable win over Broadhall at Hitchin Town FC on Friday evening. Andrew Iwediuno fed Josh Dance, who slipped the ball under the advancing ‘keeper for the opening goal. The decisive goal came on the half-hour when Danny Payne played the ball up to Dance, who took a return pass from him, fed Joel Mason, who in turn, fed David Iwediuno on the wing, he beat the defender, squared the ball to his brother Andrew, who smashed home at the far post. They missed plenty of other chances, whilst Broadhall were dangerous on a few set pieces. Nirankari took the cup 2-0.

Premier Division:
To compound the farcical division, Olympic Nirankari were handed their second double-header walkover as Dun Cow failed to raise a side. King Pin United had also elected not to fulfil their un-scheduled fixture against them. This means Nirankari are assumed as champions, having played just five games.

Division One:
In the final game, as is traditional across the league, MBDA and MKS Carpentry drew their playing positions from the hat. Paul Kersey, Ryan Stewart and Craig Sutherill netted for the champions MBDA, whilst MKS responded through Russell Ayles and Neil Roskilly as they failed to get out of the official relegation zone.
Liam Castle, Tom Finch and Rob Stevenson were on target as AJS Tyres Broadhall beat Coopers United 3-1. Sam Jamieson had even given the bottom side the lead on the hour.
Lifestyles grabbed the runners-up spot with a 3-1 win over Breachwood Lions. Matt Sharp (two) and Kieran Ellis were on target. Martin Rees scored a lovely consolation goal late on for Lions.

Division Two:
Last Wednesday, Benington (Ryan Palmer) drew 1-1 with JML Plumbing and Heating Athletic (Lewis White).
Lewis White was on again on target as JML Plumbing & Heating Athletic followed up on Sunday with a 4-2 win over champions Broadhall Icon. Craig Braine, Jon Dunne and Tony Webb also netted, whilst Tony Waters scored both for Icon.

Division Three:
TC Wanderers were beaten 3-1 by Brackas last Wednesday, despite Luke Brackenbury’s strike. Dave Quinton, Thro Griffith and Matt Jefford on target.
On Sunday, TC Wanderers were beaten 5-3 by league runners-up, Broadhall Athletic, for whom Mark Chalkey netted a hat-trick. Alex Elmes and Ricky Reynolds scored the others. Jimmy Lock, Mark McKeown and Gary Rollinson netted for TC.
