Lifestyles shock Cow... Late drama as Lifestyles pull off shock win, writes Darren “Statto” Jones (statto@cssfl.info, www.cssfl.info).

Lifestyles produced a strong defensive display to pull off a shock result and earn their first-ever points against Dun Cow in the Premier Division. Last-minute replacement Ryan Ellis was commanding in goal when the back line needed assistance. With twenty minutes to go, they went down to ten men due to player commitments, but it was then that Dan Bond broke free and angled a shot past Cow ‘keeper Wayne Simpson. They held out until the last minute of injury-time, when Cow were awarded a penalty. It was down to hotshot Adam Furness to earn Cow a point… but Ellis saved superbly to give Lifestyles the game 1-0.

Oneness are top with the only 100 percent record after a 4-0 win over a new-look Nirankari. Sam Stephenson (two), Richard Hall and Kenny Slack netting.

MBDA were up against a resolute FC Fourteen side, who looked good going forward, but were ripped apart at the back. Gary Hodgson (hat-trick), Ashley Kersey (two) and Craig Sutherill (two) were on the mark. Kyle Watson scored a magnificent solo goal in the 8-2 win. Warren Clayson and Fred Robinson were Fourteen’s scorers.

Luthaw “Yaya” Oyejodo hit two as Broadhall Athletic won 5-2 against MKS Carpentry. Ryan Chilcott, Scott Durham and Ricky Reynolds also netted. Charlie Stapleton and Neil Roskilly replied.

Rob Stevenson hit a brace as Pig and Whistle stayed 100 percent at the top of Division One. Matt Arlick and Rich Minnis also bagged a goal in the 4-0 win over GJ Auto Broadhall.

Aspire Personal Training also maintained a 100 percent record with a comfortable-in-the-end 5-0 victory over Marquis of Lorne South. In a physical game, which Marquis dominated during the first-half, they were hit just before the break when Jack Payne headed in a Matt Sharp corner for 1-0 to Aspire. They took control more in the second-half, Kieran Ellis made it two with a shot across the ‘keeper and Michael Difford added another with a low driven free-kick. Difford chipped the ball over for Ellis’ second before the roles were reversed for Difford’s second when Ellis unselfishly squared the ball.

Almond Tree are third after being given a tough game by previous whipping-boys, Twin Foxes. Louis Gilbert and Ant Lloyd were on the mark in the 2-1 win. Josh Parker replied for the Foxes, who will take heart from the score-line.

Dan Farnam, Nathan Hamilton, Myles Marshall and Kev Robbins netted in FC Chequers’ 4-2 win over Brackas, for whom Mark Brennan and Theo Griffith responded.

MSC Active are mid-table after Tallem Dennis hit a brace in a 3-1 win over Royal Oak. Charley Blackham was also on target, whilst Rob Smith replied for the Oak.
