First Division Champions

Congratulations to AFC Cutsyke First Division Champions. This was a very close run in to the Championship with it going to the last day.
AFC Cutsyke having one point more than Ferrybridge 'C' FC really need the 3 points from their away fixture at Whitwood Metrostars to be sure of the Championship, although a point in front a draw would mean that Ferrybridge 'C' FC would have to lose at home to Pontefract & Castleford United, if they draw and AFC Cutsyke draw then AFC Cutsyke would still be Champions, Ferrybridge 'C' FC needed AFC Cutsyke to lose and they beat Whitwood, but it was not to be AFC Cutsyke ran out 2 - 0 winners to take all 3 points and Ferrybridge 'C' FC won 5 - 1.
Chairman Peter Murthick presented the Championship Cup on field after the match, League Secretary later presented the Cup and 16 Championship Medals in the Cutsyke Club.
The First Division has been very close with 7 teams at one time challenging for top spot.
The First Division Cup Final will on Sunday 12th May 10:30am Kick-Off at Featherstone Collieries Welfare (North Featherstone AFC Ground) the tea/coffee bar will be open.
Railway Inn FC vs Pontefract & Castleford United FC.
Good luck to both teams.
