ROUND UP 27th OCTOBER.

PREMIER DIVISION

With Harlequins having a week off Resource United moved within five points of the leaders with an emphatic 8-4 victory over Thorplands United. The Resource goals were shared between Ionut Radu 3, Sardi Doli 2, Lucian Iagasi, Stefan Patulea and Damian Petra while a Stephen Carroll double and singles from Sam Duggan and Kevin Fox accounted for Thorplands tally.
With both defences well on top University of Northampton and Airflow couldn?t be separated in a goalless stalemate played at the University campus. Double Four recorded their first win of the season by overcoming bottom markers Asda George 6-4. Charlie Whiting led the way for the pub men with a brace and was supported with a goal a-piece from Ashley Pancoust, Darren Andrew, Darren Poole and Adam Whitmore. Asda replied with a well-taken hat trick from Ashford Campbell plus a solo effort from Terence Dunk.

DIVISION ONE
Cotton Hill are the new pacesetters after they just edged out Thorplands United Reserves by the odd goal in seven. John Weedon, Louis Mansfield and Garry Munnelly all got their names on the score sheet for Thorplands but a twosome from Chris Gale and single strikes from Leon Cosford and Martin Feasey proved enough to win the points for Cotton Hill. Another high scoring match saw Airflow Reserves beat Harlequins Reserves 7-5. Lee Wilson hit a four timer for Airflow with Jamie Ellis finding the target twice and Pete Withrington once. The Quins marksmen were Lee McFarlane 2, Shane Ranft 2 and Jake Nagy. In a nine-goal thriller James King Blisworth ?A? got the better of Obelisk United with a 6-3 score line. Dan McCabe 2, M.Boyle 2, M.O?Dwyer and E.Bilb all netted for the victors leaving a Carl White double and one from Steve Healey to make up the Obelisk retort. University of Northampton had three-goal hero Simon Goodhead to thank for their 3-2 success over Swan & Helmet who replied through Nick Renda and an own goal.
NORTHANTS F.A. LOWER JUNIOR CUP 2ND. ROUND
Nathan Mason and James White both netted for Far Cotton Loco but still lost out 5-2 to Kettering Punjab United. Hitec Roofline progressed into the next round with a 2-0 triumph over fellow Town League outfit Denton courtesy of strikes from Gary Hayhoe and Matt Humphries. A single goal from Matt Thornbar was all Ashley Rovers could muster in their 3-1 defeat to Peterborough Castor & Ailsworth. Ringstead Rangers beat Delapre Old Boys 7-2 with the influential Luke Dickens scoring both goals for the Old Boys from the penalty spot.
