Network Rail Apprentices 2015 USFL League Champions

Network Rail beat 12 Rgt RA Thorney Island 2 - 1 to become the newest team to be added to the USFL League Champion's honor roll.

Network Rail apprentices, who are trained at HMS Sultan and accommodated at HMS Collingwood, were crowned USFL league champions after beating 12 Regiment Royal Artillery Thorney Island 2 – 1. The Apprentices first entered the USFL League 5 years ago and have come close in the past. The first half was hard going for Network Rail with Thorney seemingly in charge going in at half time 1 nil up and the apprentices looking overawed by the occasion. But it looked like the
half time team talk did the trick and shortly after the break it following good pressure Network Rail equalised and with some more sound play they quickly took the lead and it was Thorney who look all at sea. This was further emphasized when Thorney were reduced to 10 men following a straight read and network Rail were in control. However, with 10 minutes to go Network Rail were also reduced to 10 following a 2nd Yellow for a silly foul. Thorney then threw all they had at Network Rail, who looked a bit apprehensive at the back but the apprentices held on to take the game 2 – 1.
